Awful experience. I've been here a few times before, but mostly had an ok experience with the staff (I usually only get the kebabs as they're okay). But today when I went in, there was this lady I've never seen before who was serving another man in front of me. After he left, she kept ignoring me even though she saw me. She turned her back to me and began fidgeting with some containers on the side. I politely waited for 5 min and then just said "excuse me" to get her attention. She did not even give a response. Then after 2 whole minutes, she told she would serve me after 5 minutes - all this while her back was turned to me. The whole thing was absolutely humiliating. Then finally after a while, she took my order and the way she looked at me was with so much disdain, it was clear she didn't want to serve me. My guess is she figured I am Indian and some Pakistanis hate us, so I am guessing she belongs to that crowd. Then, she took her own sweet time to pack my order- which was just Chicken Karahi and naan for one person. The lady behind me was billed faster and I was made to wait again. When she billed me, again she had the same rude tone and expression - it's hard for me to explain it.
Ok that was the experience. Let's come to the food. The chicken Karahi was AWFUL- that's not what it's supposed to taste like. It tasted sour. And the food was stale. I couldn't eat more than one bite and had to throw it away- I hate wasting food and wish this weren't the case. I've been to both Indian and Pakistani restaurants in Durham and nothing has been this bad. The food here is really poor in taste and low quality. Prices may be low, but I'd rather pay more to get good food.
So I paid $13 for awful, bad food and an incredibly humiliating experience. Why come to Canada if you want to bring your hatred with you? Better still, even if you do, learn that you are operating a business - and that you should treat all customers equally. Disgusting and disrespectful. Never going here...
Read moreOrdered catering for my daughter’s 2 years birthday party. Placed a $520 8 item gold package order few weeks in advance and called 1 day before pick up date to confirm order. They confirmed the order and pick up time of 6pm. Arrived on pick up day and food was not ready. Food was received by 645pm only to find out one item (naan) was missing after we got back to the party venue. Not only was the order not ready on time, an item was not provided. I called in and they said they will have someone deliver the naan in 30min but I told them there’s no point because the guest have already started eating and no one will eat naan by the time it gets here. But then I’m put on hold and they tell me they won’t be able to deliver the naan because they were delivering someone else’s missing order that they screwed up. So then they randomly called later at 8pm and said someone is at the door with the naan and a $20 dollar refund which was the amount for the naan item. I appreciated this but it was pointless at this point and what’s $20 going to do for me or my guests. Even worse, the naan arrived in foil in a plastic bag. No courtesy to even put it in a tray like all the other items so I can present it to the guests. At this point all my guest have already eaten so there was no use for the naan as I had told them before on the phone. Now the following day all my guests including kids and my whole family are all having diarrhea and upset stomach. Some of the tandoori and chicken Karahi was found to be raw with blood near the bones. I think this speaks volumes…Will not...

I was deeply disappointed with silver spoon. I have had some great experiences with their Scarborough location and have tried their Pickering location once before but this time around was disappointed.
A few days ago my husband went in and order 2 veal biryanis, fish pakora and a butter chicken. When he came home and we took a bite into the butter chicken the chicken was completely raw -pink and chewy and very dangerous.
we realized they undercooked the chicken and covered it with the butter chicken masala. We immediately called the store letting them know and was put on the phone with a manager names Prince - without apologizing or even asking if we were ok he said send me a picture ( absolutely disgusting ) which we sent, after showing that the meat was raw we explained we have a small child and this could have caused salmonella.
Prince took a few hours to even look at the picture and only got back to us the next morning and said - we will refund you the $14 for the butter chicken. It was a horrible experience- we didn’t want the refund we just wanted to make sure silver spoon acknowledged the situation and not let it happen again. There was no apology and the manager dealt with the situation very poorly.
Food safety is important and because even after seeing the raw chicken and acknowledging it was raw the manager did not have any sort of customer service etiquette we will never...
