When I heard COBS Bread was coming to Pickering, I instantly got so excited! but when I got there and saw the selection, I was a bit disappointed.
Now let me preface this by saying I'm used to going to a no frills type bakery, meaning, one where customers are allowed to walk through racks of baked goods and pickup what they please. COBS Bread has a different set up then I'm used to, it's more of a upscale bougie bakery feel and price.
We came around 3pm on a weekday and they were sold out of Sourdough bread. They staff told us Sourdough is one of their most popular ones and usually gets sold out in the mornings.
Nonetheless, I still really wanted to see what they had.
We ended up getting: 2 Spinach Feta Croissants 1 Plain Croissant 1 Spinach Mushroom Mini Pizza 1 Apricot Delight Log
Our total bill came out to $23
The baked goods were pretty good but not outstanding. I did really like the unique logs of bread they offered like the Apricot Delight and Olive Breads.
The staff were so kind, friendly and patient with the customers, and I really loved that almost all the employees were female! #womensupportingwomen

Read moreI have supported this location since they opened and all has been good. Unfortunately today was not the same. I encountered 3 staff members, 2 of which decided to scold me on the rules for picking up Orders. I explained when I called to make my Order (because the Click & Pay is not working) that I was not told I had to join the "regular" line. The young girl at the Counter who was checking me out continued to argue with me. I would like to say, I support hiring people, especially young people however sometimes these people need a little training in Customer Service. There was absolutely no need for her argumentative and sarcastic nature. I honestly was not told about the line and thought the Order and Pick Up was being treated in the same manner as the "Click and Pay". This young girl's behaviour was terrible. If your counter staff are not trained properly on how to treat customers when they come into your business, then you will begin to see a decline in your sales. Customers are paramount to the success of any...
Read moreI love the breads at Cobs and have always had nice service but today at the Pickering location, I was spoken to in such a rude manner that I have to leave this review. Customers should not be spoken to as though we are somehow intruding. I purchased over $50 but instead of a thank you. I was spoken to in a rude manner and told to call ahead next time if I wanted 4 loaves at once. Really? I guess I should have only bought 1? I will never go back to this location. I don't need to be spoken to like some grade schooler by a server. Maybe the person should think about their tone of voice and manner in which they speak to their customers and also observe if they only do it to certain races of people...
