I recently tried Raghu's Biryani Drive via Uber Eats while on a quest to find the best biryani spot in the Vancouver, Surrey, Delta, and Langley area for a party. After sampling their menu, I can confidently say that Raghu's is hands down the best choice for vegetarian biryanis! We ordered the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani, Vijayawada Fried Chicken Biryani, Veg Paneer Biryani, and Paneer 65 Biryani. Here’s my detailed breakdown:
Veg Paneer Biryani (5/5): Absolutely the best vegetarian biryani in town! The flavors were rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. It’s a must-try for anyone looking for a flavorful veg option.
Paneer 65 Biryani (5/5): Another outstanding dish. The spice level was perfect, and the flavors were distinct and delightful.
Vijayawada Fried Chicken Biryani (5/5): We loved this biryani! The chicken was perfectly batter fried, and the spices were just right for the mild level we requested.
Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani (4/5): The flavor and taste were great, but the spice level was higher than expected for a mild order. Otherwise, the biryani was delicious and authentic. A special mention to the raita and salan that accompanied the biryanis. The salan, in particular, was well-balanced and not overly spicy, which can be an issue with some places. What sets Raghu's apart is their attention to detail. Each biryani had its own distinct masala and flavor profile, unlike some places that recycle the same base for all biryanis under different names.Overall, I give Raghu's Biryani Drive a 5/5 for their incredible food. It's now my go-to spot for vegetarian biryanis and one of the top contenders for chicken biryanis as well. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and flavorful biryanis...
Read moreJust ordered lunch here at Biryani Drive, and WOW it was surprisingly good. Need to watch the spice level here as we ordered medium heat but on a scale of 1-10, I would place this at about an 8. So if you can handle heat be prepared that medium is actually pretty hot 🔥 and mild would be medium. Nonetheless the flavors the amount of 🐔 chicken that was in our meal and the quantity of the food was above my expectations. They folders the meat into the rice, so it's layered and we felt that there was a good meat 🍖 to rice ratio. Lot of places don't pay attention to that and it can feel rice 🍚 heavy, this was well balanced. They provided two sauces a brown one and a yogurt-based one, When you mix those into the rice it keeps it from being too dry, and the yogurt takes away from the spicy 🔥 and rich nature of the masala, so it's almost required. Ordered Chicken 65, boneless small order, which fed 2 people for under $20. You can not really dine in, this is a take it and go kind of place! Staff is super friendly, Worth...
Read moreIf you know the taste of real hyderabadi biryani you will know what I am talking about. First of all this place is sells biryani out of a commercial kitchen, it is not a restaurant!!! We had to order a day before and then pick it up from a not so nice area (neighborhood)...absolutely hated the surrounding of the location. Secondly, the price is way way too much for a food that you need to plan before you want to eat, because they don't prepare like restaurant...they take the order in advance, mighty inconvenient. Thirdly, the money this business is charging for biryani is way too much, what is the guy thinking....its neither an upscale restaurant nor good ambience....so I am literally paying for a pack of take away food. Finally, the taste of the biryani is average at best, since vancouver doesn't have good biryani offerings this is kind of a compromise but nothing that's worth so much hassle. I can't...
