UPDATE OCTOBER 14 2017 I love Boston Pizza so much as I have mentioned but this store is one that I will not frequent as much since this last visit today. I mentioned in a previous review on the rudeness and it happened again. Was eating with the Son and just finished but took a business call just as the waitress came to satisfy the bill. My Son pointed at me indicating I am the one to deal with. Instead of her coming back in a short time she chose to force the debit machine to get payment. I got upset enough this time that I felt the need to speak with the manager. Flagged down the young lady manager and immediately you had the sense that she wanted no part of the complaint. I tried to press on but she kept looking around showing her disinterest. Even when she made eye contact you got a look that made you feel like she had no interest. She also had apparently spoke with the waitress as the manager already had excuses for the waitresses attitude. This is the same waitress who pressed the billing issue last time while my wife was still eating. Honestly, unless the store has people lined up waiting to get in I see no reason for this behaviour. As a plus, the pizza was great! Unfortunately the fries were cold, hard and soggy. 47$ for two personal size pizzas and two sides of fries should get you a little patience IMHO
What can I say about Boston Pizza. Very Very expensive. I can also say that when I can afford it I will eat there. I love their pizza, fries and chicken fingers. My wife loves their French Onion soup. Any time I eat here I wish and wish that they would become more affordable so I can eat here more often. UPDATE September 9, 2017 Food was not as good as usual today. Fries were cold and somewhat soggy and it seems the French Onion soup now has Cheddar cheese in it instead of mozzarella and parmesan. We also felt rather rushed to pay whilst the server waited at the table for me to pay even while the wife was still eating. It was unsettling on the tummie so we finished paying, left our drinks and left. This type of behaviour leads me to ask... why are we made to feel obligated to tip anything? I tipped 4$ on a 44$ meal cause if you want the minimum 15% you are asking for please do make us feel like we...
Read moreNo longer the best place for pizza and all-you-can-eat pasta (do they even have it anymore?), but a great place for good food at a decent value. I had the 10oz strip loin steak. Now, these are thin steaks, so I know from experience to order a level up in your desired doneness. I ordered rare, and it came out cooked to a perfect medium rare. My meal included a VERY generous serving of broccoli which I'm guessing they did to make up for no garlic bread (like, an entire cup full!) and a garden salad, which was probably the least impressive thing on my plate. But it's kinda tough to be impressive when you're just a garden salad.
Our server Brianne was absolutely wonderful! She was very pleasant, and made sure we had everything we needed before attending her other tables.
My only reason for not giving more stars had nothing to do with the food or service, but rather the atmosphere... which was noisy and uncomfortable. We were sat an aisle away from the kitchen, in the midst of all this noise. I don't know why so many restaurants are now designing their dining areas so that there are hard surfaces everywhere with high unfinished ceilings, because that makes it really freaking noisy. The restaurant was quite busy when we came in, but by the time we were done it was only about 1/4 full, yet sounded as loud as when it was completely full. There was one baby in the whole place, but it felt like there were three or more whenever it cried. There used to be dividers of sorts between aisles that blocked sound but those were apparently all removed during their covid reno...and lots of noise-dampening wood was replaced by echoey metal. To top things off, there was only one working faucet in the bathroom with ice cold water (which I think was supposed to turn off by itself but didn't) and a literal mountain of dirty paper towels flowing out of the garbage can and onto the floor.
So, good value, great food and service. But boy I wish we could go back to the days when restaurants cared about having a nice, quiet environment for their patrons rather than trying to make the place sound as loud and busy as possible...
Read moreThe worst BP I've been to. Went for lunch and ordered an 8" pizza. Sent it back the first time as it was barely 5" and was not made properly. When it came back, it was slightly bigger but still not near 8" and while closer to what it should have been, it was still not made properly. After a week of working in town and eating elsewhere, we decided to give the location a second chance. This time, the person I was with ordered two appies for dinner and had neither made close to correctly. I ordered a pasta, and while smaller than I've ever had it at another location, it was fine.... atleast until I had a bite of the bread, which clearly was made by someone who had come back from a smoke break without washing their hands as it tasted like putting a cigarette butt in my mouth (A taste I still can't get rid of while writing this). I should also note that the fork I was given had bits of dried food still stuck to it, so I wound up using the one of person I was there with as neither of his dishes needed one. For reference, we are two people who work on the road across Canada and have been to many BPs in many locations, and we have ordered the dishes we had many times before elsewhere. This location is extremely far below the standards by all other locations...
