Star House Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Prince Albert

I will never eat here again. 1st things 1st, we showed up at 8 and they said they were closing but still wanted us to eat there and this wasn’t until after we had grabbed our plates. We checked the website and it showed it stayed open until 1 am that night. Not only were we rushed but we also got a lot of negative looks from the workers there. Other than the owner who was very nice and kind the other workers obviously had a problem with us coming in late. Now we barely had food to eat only a selection was left at the buffet which some of the food was very hard. Now we did not want to be rude so we just sucked it up and ate. The whole time still getting certain looks from the workers while eating. We were rushed, afterwards we were way over charged. I asked how much for three people they said only about 21$ per person and there was three of us. Now we had a pepsi each and my son had fries. All together it came up to 97$ dollars!!! I found this ridiculous! I tried to ask for a printed receipt but they said they were out of paper for the receipts. Tried calling the next day to figure out what the heck happened but apparently the owner would not be in for a while. Still have not talked to get this sorted out. I feel like I was scammed! Paying that amount for such awful service! Getting watched from basically the whole staff while we were eating. Terrible service, the food sat there for awhile. I did not know it would close so early as I said before the website said it was open until 1 am. I will probably never go back because of this one experience. The food was not even close to the price we paid. You would expect to have good hot food for paying that amount but nope. We got offered to get fresh food cooked but we already felt rushed and did not want to feel even more rushed. Not only did we not want to feel rushed but we were already getting dirty looks from some of the workers. It is not our fault we did not know it was closing time until we had already made our plates. If we knew beforehand we would have walked out. It’s like they purposely did this. I am sorry but never have I ever had to pay this amount even at some of the higher up restaurants such as Montanas. If I went there at least my food was cooked right then and there. Never felt rushed there either. I just want a printed receipt of everything we paid for. You’d expect them to give you one for paying such a high amount. The worker obviously scammed us because she did not want yo give us a printed receipt with everything on there. I will never eat at star house after this...

I wish that I would have seen the reviews before I ordered it was the grossest food I've ever ordered in my life then she tried to charge me more 41.00 almost $42 and still she wants to charge me more for her mistake not only is the egg roll so greasy it's rewrapped in another batter it is disgusting I got eight chicken balls sticky rice that you can't even eat and a bunch of spaghetti noodles for 41 dollars and cold sweet and sour sauce I don't recommend anybody ordering from here I hope I can share the pictures cuz it's disgusting old ass food I really want to share the post pictures but it's not looking like I can I guess I do that so you can't discuss anybody with what they serve you I guess this is what you get in small towns people once they get their money they don't care to do anything for you she wouldn't reimburse me I wanted to send it all back it was disgusting I am still hungry and I refuse to eat what's here the homeless will be...

i imagine the food is good for prince albert, but for somebody from saskatoon i really didn't like it. we got the dinner for 3B which comes with wonton soup, chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, fried shrimp, and plain white rice.

the wonton soup was very meh, no substantial flavour to speak of, the broth just tasted like store-bought chicken stock.

the sweet and sour ribs were far too sweet, i was worried it was giving me cavities the whole five minutes i spent grinding the tough meat between my molars.

the fried rice was fine, and so were the shrimp if not for the batter inside being slightly undercooked.

the chow mein was okay for the most part, save for an overpowering ginger taste; and they completely forgot to give us our plain white rice.
