Taste Of Asia Buffet — Restaurant in Prince Albert

Took my 12 year old.and 10 year old son here for lunch buffet. Pretty expensive 21 bucks for me(adult) and 21 bucks for my 12 year old( yes seriously a 12 year old is charged adult price!!!) and 16 dollars for the 10 year old. But the kids really wanted to go to a buffet. We were there at 12:30 so I figured it would be packed. Nope barely anyone. So that should have been my first hint of what was to.come. the selection of food looked good. We filled our plates happily. Once we started eating the happiness ended for me. The food was nothing like I expected. Very dry and chewy. Almost any kind of meat dish was hard to eat. The breaded foods like chicken balls and breaded shrimp have hardly any meat in them. It's all breading. Couple examples of the poor food is the sweet n sour pork was so chewy kids could not eat it. So I had to try to eat it. The chicken wings were sooooo dry they were not edible. Oh yeah the bacon was the worst thing on the buffet. No one could eat it. So distasteful!!!!! The waiter brought us lots of water so that was nice as the food is salty. Which is normal. Another thing I took was some square piece.of meat on a bone at the far end.of buffet. I tried gnawing the meat but I couldn't get any off. It was too tough and dry.. I am guessing what is left at the lunch buffet is used for the supper buffet and what is left.from that gets served the next day and over time it dries out n gets chewy. Long review.i.know but what a waste of money. The kids did like the ice cream tho. And I loved the wontons. I took some after noticing the people who worked there eating and all they were eating were wontons and vegetables. Smart!!! Vegetables...

We went today at 4:30. I found a bug in my food. It was a cooked fly type bug, on the larger side. It was on a vegetable that was a mix of broccoli, carrots, celery & Chinese cabbage with a garlicky sauce. The celery also had dirt on them. Obviously they're not washing their produce properly. The gravy & cherry sauce were so gummy & lumpy. The chairs were riddled with stains & sauces were sticky on the metal frame parts. The back room they put us in to eat was hot as HELL. No airflow just hot, stale, thick air. We were all sweating & uncomfortable. A few of the dishes were alright but a lot of them (chicken wings, ribs) were either very over cooked which made the food tough & dry. And many items were noticeably undercooked (springs rolls looked white like right from the box & were soggy with oil). The fries & onion rings were soggy with oil. The desserts were sooo cheap & all the vegetables were so dry from sitting around. We were never offered extra napkins or any drink refills. We all paid over $23 each for our meal. Very over priced for what you receive. We were even being accused of not including all of family on the bill. There were 6 of us in all & they were claiming 7. Ridiculous especially when you can literally count us all up in front of the cashier...And I noticed as well that the staff have claimed several of the booths as their own. They're INCREDIBLY messy with all types of junk scattered all over each booth. You can see it easily from dining inside & from the outside windows. Very unprofessional. Food was tasteless and super oily, including the wonton soup which is odd cause i dont believe that wonton soup usually contains oil, at least not the amount that was in it. The filling of it was also extremely gingery, which i thought was odd because i have never had a wonton soup that contained ginger. The sauce for the sweet and sour pork and the sesame chicken was so watery that it was absorbed into the breading of it completely making it grossly soggy, yet somehow the the actual meat of it was bone dry. Now i understand that a dish that is tossed in sauce is probably gonna be a bit soggy, though the amount of soggyness was similar to a saltine cracker being left in a cup of water for 15 minutes. Now im no culinary artist, but i do believe that messing up a dish that badly is probably more of a talent then actually making it properly.
