Update: in response to your comment, I did reach out to an agent by phone, months ago in fact. I opted to call vs email, so I could replay the tone in which your employee (Laurie) had used. She had yelled at my little one and I, mocking his disability and passing it off as if I were a negligent mother. I had explained to the agent, who mentioned being a mom herself. She was also brought to tears after hearing my story and sharing her own. She ensured that the franchise owner would phone me and would touch base again herself, but I have yet to receive a follow up call from anyone. My child, is the biggest fan of your bakery, and the only reason I go to Cobs. For your employee to treat a little one who walked in with delight, and then out with so much sadness, is completely unacceptable. I walked back in shaking, in an attempt to explain to this employee, the impact in which she had affected both my child and I. I was met with more attitude, as she proceeded to shift blame before storming away. I was told by the other employee to come back when Laurie isnāt on shift, inferring that I should go out of my way to avoid a more convenient location while the employees carry on running shop in the most horrendous manner.
My last experience here was so traumatic that I ended up shaking and in tears over the way my family and I were treated by staff. I ended up contacting Cobs and explained to the agent what had happened. She seemed empathic and ensured the franchise owner would connect with me. Nothing happened. In reading another review regarding verbal abuse, Iām wondering if I was met with the same woman. I canāt even bring myself to describe what had happened, but one of the staff members were downright aggressive and verbally abusive, while the other was younger, but equally cold⦠no smiles from her either. They refused to give out the name of the employee but I had recently discovered that it was Laurie. Iām shocked that this behavior is tolerated and nothing is done by owner to rectify. We went into the store this past Saturday and the woman at the counter looked frazzled and unapproachable. We picked out some scones and I was just about to order some bread and she came to the counter. Before I could say anything she said ā you stink, your perfume is awful. I can barely stand here and ring in your orderā. I was embarrassed and shocked, she was so aggressive. We left without purchasing anything. We took a couple hours to regroup our composure and went back to speak to the manager. The same lady was at the counter and as we approached her, she said āwhat do you wantā? I asked to speak to the manager and she said he wasnāt there I asked for his name and number and her name which is (Laurie).Laurie must of thought we were hard of hearing because she yelled out her name and proceeded to spell it out, first and last name. Her coworker was standing right beside her in shock. She then got verbally abusive again saying we were trying to get her fired and did I want her job. I asked the lady at the till, if they had a little sample pack and the lady abruptly says "NO!" Very confused and thrown off guard, I asked "What is different about today" and she rudely replies "because we're busy.
By now the atmosphere in the place was sucked dry, and super awkward. I said well my wife usually gets a sample pack with a few things in it for 15 dollars. After that the young man tries to make light of the situation, and presumes to say 'they/she assumed i was begging for free stuff."
