This is a wonderful neighborhood pub that is excellent for lunch, random afternoon loafing, or dinner out.
The beverage selection is excellent! The Trench tea on ice is so good.
One of the best Caesar salads I've had yet with home made croutons, dressing and big flakes of parm that they are wonderfully generous with.
The bacon chicken melt that was on special had me making "food pleasure noises" as the garlic butter on the CHEESE BUN married with the mayo creating an aioli effect with what I'm pretty sure was real, fresh garlic.
The chicken portion of the sandwich was perfect in 2 pieces that popped with assorted savory flavors from the grill. Cue more "food pleasure noises. "
We haven't even talked about the bacon yet. Thick cut, grilled and curly. So good!
Hubs had the quesedilla and sweet potato fries. The tarragon dip was awesome with these. The guac in the quesedilla was a nice touch.
Our server was efficient and clearly experienced as the pub was quite busy at 2 in the afternoon but both drinks and food arrived without delay. She had her stuff handled.
The menu is the kind you might want to check before coming to avoid decision paralysis, We are definitely coming back to try the halibut...
Read moreThe Westwood is a cornerstone pub here. It's extremely popular, central and a fairly good time. I've found my cocktails to be fairly cheaper here than other restaurants (long islands and paralyzers). The feature item here is the appetizer Irish nachos with waffle fries which is reminiscent of Kelly O'Bryans pachos; equally delicious. The beef dip is not amazing, but good enough. The girls here and super friendly and the Pub offers trivia Wednesdays, Fridays and is a host of live music and fundraisers. The 3 star rating is because the food is okay but not amazing, besides the Irish Nachos. At times there hasn't been room for us to sit as space can be limited and crowded during peak times. The menu needs to expand as well. I think it would be great to have other burger options like a crispy chicken burger, mushroom swiss burger, flaming...
Read moreWent to the Westwood Pub today and were able to get a beautiful corner table in the sun. We were pleasantly greeted, in a very timely manner, by our beautiful server Shannon. Shannon was on the ball the whole time we were there. She never let a glass go dry and was super friendly and honestly one of the sweetest servers we've experienced in a long time. It was a nice treat. We ordered the honey garlic wings to start (sorry, so good I forgot the picture) followed by a beef dip with fries and gravy (every bite mouth watering delicious) and a burger with wood chips as a side which are always a hit. Fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere and spectacular service . Thank you Shannon and the Westwood...
