Chez Victor Hamel — Restaurant in Quebec

Usually chez victor is one of our fav burger places in quebec city, though we usually go to another location. Menu got smaller, but prices went up. The quality of the patty is different also, had no texture and was... mushy? Plus it was hot to the point of burning my lip, which makes me question if they are starting to microwave food, no patty gets to that point on a grill and ive never had that issue in the past whatsoever at the other location... i had to ice my lip when we got home. We also got there while there was hardly anybody, and still waited almost an hour and a half to be served our food. I also understand during covid times outdoor dining is needed, but it was hot and humid and they had both the garage style doors open that day with no AC, which made the dining experience unpleasant sitting inside. They're known for their amazing burgers, and this time is nonetheless different... Even the simplest one is amazingly good. This place is normally full every lunch time, mostly due to the industry around, so trying to go a little earlier or late may avoid you some waiting lines. You do not see many staffs, which may delay your initial order, but after that, it goes smoothly. Not many tables, but it seems enough for their business. You can expect a modern ambient, big windows with a pitch of "industrial like" environment. Only two clean bathrooms, which sometimes is not enough. I’ve been to Chez Victor once before, but this is the first time I tasted their famous burgers. I had their Veganator Burger in a lettuce wrap with a side of half salad half fries. Wow. I honestly did not expect it to be that delicious. Also, I was surprised at how generous the side portions were! This is my sibling’s (who is not vegan) go-to burger place in the city, and they pointed at a handful of different burgers on the menu that they highly recommend.
