We're visiting from out of town and were not really impressed with our experience.
Hostess was friendly and we were seated quickly, she also brought us our coffees. Our waitress was nice but very slow. I'm not sure if it's from a lack of experience or tiredness or she's been a waitress for way too long but it definitely wasn't from the amount of tables she was serving or the lack of staff (I've worked in restaurants before). Everything seemed to take forever - from getting the milk for our coffees, getting our water (which she only brought one glass of water for my husband), or even entering our order in the system (we saw our waitress kind of wandering around the restaurant until she finally went to the computer to punch in the order).
Then there's the food. I'm not a big eater so I ordered the ragout des boulettes thinking it would be enough. The portion was really really small, I was starving afterwards. I mean, small as in almost Parisian style and it's not like it's a Parisian restaurant. My husband ordered the club sandwich and it just completely fell apart as he was eating it (and trust me, he's had his fair share of club sandwiches, he knows how to eat them). There was no tomato in the sandwich and the portion of fries was really small too.
We're here for the next couple of days and were planning on going back for breakfast in the morning but after today's lunch, we'll try...
Read moreThis is a chain family restaurant. It's an extremely safe choice, especially for larger groups, as it has a huge menu. You're not likely to get to get your favourite version of something ever here, but you can trust that at worst, you will be getting something decent. I started with a cream of chicken soup that was very nice. I got a smashburger and a poutine. The burger was quite good with a lot of onion. The poutine, made with frozen fries, was just ok (Edit: The owner was kind enough to inform me that the fries are actually not frozen. My mistake. I guess I will just say that they did not have characteristics I would expect from fresh-cut fries). I was able to taste their pizza, and it was pretty good. I was told that the spaghetti was good as well, though I did not taste it myself. Our server was...
Read moreWe went for brunch on Monday as we know they open 24hr. The servers are very nice! For someone who has yet mastered French, our waitress was very patient and meticulous in explaining the menu. She even gave me some new French vocabs. The food was delicious. It's similar to American comfort platter (baked beans, Sunnyside eggs, toasts, ect... ) but with Quebec flavors (paté meat pie, strawberry compote )which to me, brings the brunch up a notch. Very happy with the service and large...
