La Piazzetta Saint-Louis — Restaurant in Quebec

The only thing saving this place from a 1 Star review was the food. By far one of the worst customer that me and my family have received at any place. We came for our reservations for 6:35, by the we sat down and gave out order it was around 6:45pm which is fine. But what is not fine is the fact that we didn't receive our food until 8:30pm. When we made a complaint to the manager about it, she told us it was our fault and how "this isn't a fast food restaurant" and it caused us to miss one of our other reservations and told us we should have stated that so can make our order and rush order as if that's our responsibility to have the food come out on time. They treated my parents very disrespectfully and will 100% remove this place off my list when I comeback to Quebec City and will not recommend this...

I visited the restaurant one night while in Quebec City, in part because it was only a short walk from my hotel, although also as other reviews suggested it was a decent option for a good feed. Service was a little hit and miss, although the waitress did apologise more than once that her English wasn't great - although as my French is even worse, I could in no way fault her for her language skills. The restaurant seemed fairly large for a pizzeria, perhaps feeling even more so because there weren't many guests on the weeknight I visited. Choosing a pizza with duck on it gave the impression that the menu was a little fancier than the 'local favourite' feeling that the decor presented. Fantastic! Service, ambience and especially the food. Even the kids menu was top class. Our 4 year old devoured everything put in front of him. The lobster pizza and salmon burger were delicious and a lovely bottle of quebec rose was the perfect accompaniment. Our dessert was even made in-house with local strawberries. Did I mention the service - warm, friendly, helpful and impeccably professional. No television thank God but wonderful background music at an appropriate volume.

Figured we would visit this wonderful restaurant a second time on our trip. Reinforced our first visit. Timely service, fantastic food and amazing atmosphere. Wish we could come...
