Absolutely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth Your Time or Money If you're looking for a place to feel truly unwelcome and disappointed, this restaurant delivers on that front. From the moment we arrived, the experience went downhill. The first thing they asked was whether we planned to spend at least $25 per person. If not, you're simply not allowed to dine—how’s that for hospitality? The staff were cold and unwelcoming, without so much as a smile. Our glasses sat empty for a long time before we had to ask— just to get water. For a supposedly full-service dine-in restaurant, that’s unacceptable. The menu itself is misleading. It displays several combination options, but when you place your order, you don't get few of them .” I even asked them twice, they told they will provide certainly but did not even dared to feed at your table. That’s just poor management. When it came time to settle the bill, we were told to go to the counter instead of being served at the table. This was the same person who again went to settle the bill. While doing so, we were shocked to see a $8.80 “service charge” added—on top of which they had the audacity to charge an additional 15% tax. This kind of double-charging is outrageous and completely unjustifiable. What’s worse, they still displayed tip suggestions on the terminal—as if they had earned it. To top it all off, the person handling the bill didn’t even bother to look at us. He was on the phone, handed over the bill mid-conversation, and walked off immediately. No courtesy, no thank you—nothing. Aside from the barely average food, everything else about this visit was deeply disappointing: the service, the attitude, the charges, and the overall hospitality. This hotel ranks among the worst hotel in Quebec city. Avoid it if you value good service, respect, and transparency.

A Culinary Misadventure Wrapped in Unpleasant Service Rating: ⭐️ (1 out of 5) Dining out is as much about the experience as it is about the food, and unfortunately, my visit to this Indian restaurant was disappointing on both counts. To begin with, the food was abysmal. Despite a promising menu boasting a range of traditional Indian dishes, the reality was a far cry from what was expected. The spices seemed poorly balanced, the textures were off, and most dishes lacked the rich, robust flavors that are the hallmark of Indian cuisine. This was all the more frustrating given the extraordinary amount of time we had to wait for our meal. An hour and a half elapsed from the moment we placed our order to the time the first dish arrived at our table. The service was equally subpar. Our waiter continually mixed up our orders and even forgot our drinks. Despite several reminders, the beverages were never delivered, leaving us parched throughout our meal. The cherry on this unfortunate sundae was the owner's response to our constructive criticism. Instead of taking our comments as an opportunity for improvement, he became defensive and resorted to racially insensitive remarks, implying that dissatisfaction was a trait unique to Indian patrons. This kind of attitude is not only disrespectful but also entirely unprofessional. In summary, poor food quality and abominable service make this restaurant a place to avoid. Given the plethora of dining options available, I would recommend that diners seeking authentic Indian food look elsewhere.

The worst Indian restaurant we have ever tried . The service is terrible. They treat Indians so bad. And the food is absolutely awful. I’ve never been to such a terrible Indian restaurant in Canada. There was this guys who treated us so badly I don’t know if he’s the owner. We ordered a takeout in Uber which the restaurant accepted and when we reached there to pick it up they lied that they didn’t receive the order and took 1 and half hour to give us the order . And they also didn’t give all the items and was missing one. The taste of the food was bad . Too much oil no spice or anything. I don’t mind the food being bad. But the way he treats Indian is unacceptable. While I was waiting I did hear the same from people in another table saying the same about the service. Please don’t even considering trying.

READ ALL REVIEWS PLEASE. IF YOU ARE SEEKING DECENT VEGETERIAN FOOD, PLE DO HOMEWORK, FIND OTHER PLACE.

Please READ Owner's responses to all prior reviews. How come mostly Indian customer's review had similar sentiments. He had been same with us even with 2 min conversation.

I did not read all reviews. I fell for it coz we are pure veg. Visiting from US, at 7:00 pm in evening where everything mostly closed. First in all past reviews people mentioned how they force you to spend compulsory $20 per person. I was told same thing. "We had buffet earlier with $20 price tag, but one machine broke, so we can't do that now. But you have to spend $20 per person, otherwise difference you have to pay". Yet, we said, let's go as long as we can get "Better Veg Indian food". NO.. The girl who picked up the phone was/is nice, tried to be professional. My wife asked why force us to spend $20. Not sure her relation with owner/mgr. But she tried her way to talk us out and took our order. Few minutes later, owner/mgr comes by, very rudely "is there a problem?". I am like what...We can't even ask. He goes, we had buffet only in morning. So I said, why don't say that way when we called.

None-the-less, we were the only indian/gujarati folks in there. Restaurant had hardly 3 tables with people (1 us, 2nd with few group of girls, 3rd with Caucasian folks ). Forcefully ordered 3 shaak, biryani and few naans to make it $20 per person. Biryani was good presentation, but shaak were same stockpile curry for Malai Kofta and Paneer, blend.

Naan were ok. After food was served, only one time anyone of them showed up to serve water. We asked for few onion/chilly on side, were told it would be extra. That was icing on the cake.

That point, I was bit annoyed that we are about to spend over $85 without tax and yet for few pieces of chilly we have to pay.

Ambiance is ok, dark mostly, not lighted, but that's not big problem. Food taste is average, but my main concern is the practice.

I did not read all prior reviews, whether the owner is prejudiced or not, the shady practice of looting visitors by forcing them per person even for 12 yrs old kid is outrageous. How come this is allowed?

My humble request. Spend your money with some...

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. It is not about the food it is about the person serving today (Feb 19th 2023). I don’t know why he has so much attitude. The first thing he tells us after entering is Indian people eat well but they are never satisfied with food anywhere and they always leave negative review but “sir you are an Indian too”. We ordered chicken biryani, lamb biryani, shrimp biryani, chicken tandoori and veg combo. We went around 5:30 he said the restaurant was busy so whatever we need we need to order once because if we order again it might take 30mins. We ordered everything at once and we got the food after 1 and half hour. We still did not say anything. We tried the biryanis and told him shrimp was not cooked. He said the plate was suppose to have 8 shrimps and he will go and check. We said ok that is fine we did not eat we just tasted small piece of it we did not even eat 1 shrimp. He took the plate and left then he came back with the plate saying you guys touched it so it cannot be replaced, I will charge you for this but I can give you extra shrimp. “I am not sure how are we suppose to know if it is cooked without touching it” He kept saying it is not our problem and you guys( Indians) are always like this. We told him sir we don’t have problem with the taste we are saying the shrimp is not cooked which is ofcourse your problem. We told him we don’t have any problem with you bringing the shrimp again but we can’t wait for another hour. We left without eating the food. He said he would not charge us for veg combo because we did not touch it but sir we did not touch the tandoori too. By the time you were getting the tandoori we were getting ready to leave. But you still charged us for that. INDIANS ARE FOR SURE NOT WELCOME HERE. SIR YOU ARE RUNNING AND INDIAN RESTAURANT AND YOU ARE INDIAN TOO. just by naming the restaurant in French doesn’t mean it is only for whites. Start treating everyone equally.

Reply to your comment: I am not the one ruining your name your the one ruining Indians name by telling people coming to your restaurant that Indians give negative reviews at every place...

The experience at the hotel was pathetic.

If I recall the incident the Manager of the hotel first made us believe that he is going to charge us $26+taxes per person, then he made us order extra food that we really didn't want to order, then he cheated us by charging for all the dishes separately and in the end he harassed me and my family by using abusive and foul language.

We were tricked by the Manager of the restaurant by telling us first that he will be charging us $26+taxes per person and we can order anything from the menu.

We confirmed this thing around 6 times as we were not able to understand how do we order food looking at the menu because the price was mentioned per dish and not per person in the menu.

After multiple question answers the Manager convinced us for ordering food per person as the quantity for a dish is limited for 1 person only.

When we received the food it was 3 times that we, a group of 5 adults and 3 kids could have consumed. Hence, we ended up packing food in to-go boxes.

At the time of billing the Manager charged us for each and every dish separately and not as said per person earlier.

When I asked him that he is supposed to charge us $26+taxes per person he started shouting at me and my family claiming that we are telling lies about the charges and the discussions we had with him at the time of ordering the food.

When I confronted him he started using abusing and foul language in front of my kids. He started misbehaving with me telling that we people only have problems while paying bill and not while ordering the food at the table.

I ended up paying the complete amount at the restaurant as stretching up things would have not gone anywhere.

For travelers like me, money is never a concern but the behavior is. After all hotel industry runs on good hospitality and way people behave and talk to you with respect.

It was really a pathetic experience that still has bad impact on my family's memory.

We came to Quebec City for a vacation and now it has become a memorable bad experience.

This restaurant is not at all good for...
