Mucho Burrito Fresh Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Quinte West

My experience at this location was, unfortunately, extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the service was lacking. It was our first time visiting, and when we mentioned that to the staff, we were met with indifference rather than any helpful guidance. The server was unfriendly and made the interaction uncomfortable.

I ordered a burrito bowl, but had to return it after just a couple of bites. The chicken had a very unpleasant chemical-like taste and smell that made it completely inedible. When I brought this to the server’s attention, there was no apology, no offer to remake the dish, and no effort to resolve the issue professionally. Instead, I was met with eye rolls, a dismissive attitude, and the bowl was thrown in the garbage without a word. I did receive a refund, but it was handed back with a head shake that made me feel like I was the problem.

On a slightly more positive note, the nacho fries were quite tasty, and the restaurant itself has a modern look and was generally clean in the main area. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were a different story—very dirty and nearly unusable, which only added to the poor overall experience.

I won’t be returning to this location, and I’d recommend others think twice before dining here. Customer service and food quality are just too...

I have been to this location several times without issue. The food has been good and I always order the same item. Last night was no exception other than the person serving me had not served me previously, Firstly, without asking, (I have always been asked in the past) she put both rice and quinoa in the bowl. When I quickly stopped her, she tried to scoop out the quinoa with her hands, instead of starting over, so I am sure i was left with both ingredients. Then she proceeded to put the bare minimum of each ingredient into the bowl. I had to ask several time for a little more, which brought me up to what the other servers normally put in without asking. On Monday, when I was last there, the server asked me if I wanted some hot salsa as well on the bowl. I said yes and had it added (no cost). Last night when I asked for the same, I was told it would be an upcharge as it is not on the ingredient list for the bowl I chose. I paid the difference, but I was not happy with this entire situation. When I left the store, I thought about the situation some more and decided to call an express my displeasure. This same server picked up the phone and took my complaint, but obviously did not care and offered no apology. Hence, I will...

My friend and I chowed here. We both had the build a bowls. I had the steak bowl, and the steak was these tiny square cubes (I should have taken a picture). It looked less than appetizing. I can't imagine I'm alone in this, "Yum! Tiny cubed steak! My fav!" said no one ever. Now throw on some steak strips, and this girl gets a little more excited. We eat with our eyes too, food presentation matters.

My friend had some black lettuce in her bowl, which made me slightly gag, I am not gonna lie.

75% of the tables were covered in leftover food from people who ate there previously. Most people that came in while we were there, left with their food. Maybe because there was no clean table to sit at? We were there for a while, so there were times when it wasn't busy and the staff could clean... but nope. One fella was fiddling on his phone - with any luck, he was googling how to clean a restaurant at the end of the night.

I didn't use the bathrooms. After seeing the cleanliness of the restaurant, I was afraid to look... so I pulled my usual camel move, and held it until I got home.

Overall, the bowl was meh. Nothing outstanding. Maybe there are other dishes that are delish? I am not sure, but I won't be gracing this...
