Our first experience with this restaurant was take out and although our food arrived under room temperature the taste was enough to make us want to try dine in. Tonight we went for my daughter's birthday dinner. Knowing it's a busy place I went to their website and set a reservation for 3 for 645 to avoid some of the dinner rush. When we arrived we were behind a gentlemen who appeared to be waiting to be sat. Turns out he was the hostess and when he realized we were there he went to the other side of the desk and asked how many of us there were. I told him we had a reservation and after a moment of looking around he spoke to a coworker who said give them this table when these people leave. She then proceeded to clear and wipe the table while the elderly couple was still gathering their belongings and putting their coats on. I felt bad because they felt pushed out in order to seat us. The table was in an awkward spot almost in the walkway at the front. I inquired if it was the only table, especially since we had a reservation and received a snarky yes. The restaurant was busy. There was a hockey tournament but I somewhat expected a timed reservation to mean there was a table waiting not the first available after we hurry the people out the door. I have sensory issues that include loud noise and being at the front in the path of everyone was a lot. I wasn't able to regulate myself until the slamming of the cutlery finally ceased a good 10 minutes into being seated. I struggled to hear my family speaking and it seemed everyone needed to yell at each other so the place was deafeningly loud. Due to the crowds of people our waitress was worn thin and was unable to really offer adequate service with basic things like taking a moment to confirm the drink she was refilling or asking how our food was. This included her being given a large table of 3 families (maybe a dozen or so) After 40 mins of hearing nothing & receiving one (wrong) refill we were told our food wouldn't be much longer. Between the excessive noise, lack of service and having my chair kicked by kids the wait was starting to get to all of us. Especially since conversing was so difficult making time stand still We were contemplating leaving when we were told the food was about to arrive. Our food arrived at varying temperatures (hot fries on one plate and room temp on the other, room temp burger). I had the fajitas, standard fajita, could use seasoning other than the flavour of the grill but otherwise good portion and food amount of toppings. Husband had the club and thoroughly enjoyed it and my daughter had the signature burger and although not overly hot when it arrived, she did enjoy it as well. We were approached by someone who asked if things were ok and apologized for the wait. Our empty cups sat on our table the entire time we ate. They remained on the table when my husband's plate was cleared and again when mine and my daughter's were. When we were given our bill the tortilla container was taken on the own but not the cups. We paid and barely had a chance to move before the female hostess came over and somewhat stood on top of me. Normally this would be a four seater but due to being in the walkway the fourth chair was not there and she stood in this space to reach over me rudely and take the cups that had literally been on the table empty for a good 20 mins. It was clear we were leaving and she could have waited with her cleaning rag for us to clear the table so she wasn't leaning over me, or could have stood at the end where one usually serves from and grabbed the cups. The food is delicious and I can see why its popular, however, the inconsistent food temperatures and chaotic environment mixed with a staff who judged me because I couldn't focus in the noisy environment and asked for a chance at a quieter table away from the walkaway and entrance led to an unpleasant experience for us. We enjoy the food enough to try and figure out how to find the quieter times to attend or maybe order pick up and eat by the water instead...

I used to rave about this place when they first opened, now I don't think I'd go back again. Their Pad Thai is still my favourite, the Salmon that comes with it is always way too cooked and lacks flavour, but I don't mind because the pad Thai is the best. We went for dinner tonight and the whole atmosphere had changed from when we initially first went. We got there kind of late, closer to 8pm and the place was dead. Husband got the rib and wing special and said his wings were really dry and ribs were rubbery like they sat out and were microwaved to re-heat. Said you could definitely taste they had been frozen. Our Irish Nachos were missing the Jalepenos, the sour cream was weirdly stringy, and it lacked toppings. Hardly any lettuce or cheese even. This used to be my go to appetizer as it was delicious before, now it's not great. Dry potatoes and lacks toppings. My Pad Thai was delicious, as always. Husband mentioned something to waitress, she apologized and felt bad, I felt so awkward that he said something. The manager came out and apologized and they ended up giving us a discount on his meal, which wasn't necessary, but we appreciated it. I felt bad for complaining, but I guess constructive criticism is okay. It's unfortunate, I used to love this place, now, I don't think we will be back. I'll definitely order the pad Thai as take out though.
We came here for breakfast the other day and it was great though. Service was excellent and food was tasty. I'd do breakfast here again, definitely not dinner.
OLD REVIEW: We visited Piper Arms in Trenton for the first time this evening. We made a reservation for 5pm and while there was 3 groups ahead of us in line, we were seated almost right away, as were the people in front of us. Didn't have to wait long. It was decently busy inside, but the service didnt reflect that. Our waiter was awesome. Very attentive, extremely friendly and super professional. I want to say he had said his name was possibly "George". I wish I would have checked the receipt before leaving to check what his name was for this review. But he was awesome, shout out to him for sure! The service was exceptional and the food was very tasty! The seating hostess was very friendly and accommodating.
We got the Irish Nachos as an appetizer and they were so good. Good sized portion and the lattice fries were cooked perfectly. Very tasty for sure. For my dish, I got the Grilled Salmon Pad Thai and it was very tasty as well. Loved the Pad Thai for sure! Very saucy (which I love) and the Salmon was cooked perfectly. My husband got the Yorkshire Curry dish and he really enjoyed it. The flavours were great.
The only thing is I noticed they didn't have many booths to sit at there, alot of tables and chairs, but I prefer sitting at booths for dinner. More room, more comfortable and more space away from other people. They definitely pack a lot of tables and chairs in one area, a few tables seemed very close to other people's table. I'm glad I reserved a booth and requested one when we got there. From what I seen, they only had 2 booths there. They could use more, for sure, makes for a more intimate seating space. Overall it's a great place, it's definitely a sports pub, crowed and can be loud with people talking, but that's to be expected with it being a pub. No complaints on that aspect.
Was our first time there, and definitely won't be our last! Tasty food and exceptional service. Again, a huge shout out to our waiter this evening, always approached our table with a big smile and cheerful attitude. 10/10 service from him and the other staff members that assisted tonight. If management reads this, please give him a shout out for us! (Hoping they'll have an idea who our server was based on the order and we left around 5:50pm, showed up around 5pm, seated at the booth right behind the hostess desk at...
Read moreI was in a group of 10 co-workers who decided to go for breakfast after our midnight shift. Staff was rude from the get-go. When my co-worker said there was 10-15 of us, she was snapped at and asked if we had a reservation. No, sorry, we didn't know we would need one at 7am for breakfast, especially at a restaurant that is attached to the Ramada hotel. There were only 3 other patrons there at the time. When the waiter brought out extra coffees that weren't ordered, again he was very snappy & said well I brought coffee for everyone who said they wanted it. (Actually, the 2 extra coffee he brought should have been the waters that were ordered) When the tray of coffee was brought out, no cream or sugar was brought out for at least 5 minutes, and only after we asked for some to drink our coffee. Before taking our orders, we were told we would have to wait for our order to be taken until he could get the orders from the two smaller tables that came in after us, because he had other tables to look after. Our food was sub-par to say the least & most of our eggs were incorrect. Waiter put a pot of coffee in the middle of the table & said normally he would pour it, but he had other tables to worry about. One person ordered toast & eggs - she got her eggs with some fruit on a plate, without her toast. When she asked about her toast, she was told it would be out shortly. It was about 5 minutes after her eggs arrived. Another ordered french toast that was super thin bread & was still white in the middle as the egg wasn't soaked into it & had a rubbery texture. It was an hour from when I was seated until I received my breakfast (bacon, eggs, toast & homefries - nothing too difficult. Ordered soft poached eggs that were hard & crispy bacon that was flippy floppy, definitely not crisp!) A couple people at my table were half done their breakfast when I finally got mine. Because this restaurant was relatively new for breakfast, we decided to give it a try. But after having terrible service and less than ideal food, I won't go back for any meal. There are 3 other restaurants available at that time of the morning who treat the patrons with friendly greetings, respect & have great food! I will spend my...
