Oh. My. Lanta.

If you had told me I’d have one of the best seafood meals of my life inside a dive bar attached to a sketchy Super 8 on the north side of Red Deer, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are. And let me tell you—it was absolutely worth it.

After a long, soul-draining day of car shopping, we were starving—like, the kind of hungry where even a questionable gas station hot dog starts looking gourmet. But fate (and a quick phone call) led us to this hidden gem’s seafood boil night. We didn’t hesitate. We went. We conquered.

First up: a Caesar that could cure all of life’s problems—spicy, tangy, and just strong enough to make you question your life choices in the best way. Then, we went all in and ordered the seafood boil with ALL the add-ons—crab legs, lobster tails, the whole deep-sea experience. No regrets.

When the food arrived, it was a masterpiece—a glorious, steaming pile of ocean goodness that had us momentarily speechless. The only dilemma? What to devour first. The crab legs? The lobster? The buttery, garlicky goodness coating everything?

Now, let’s talk about the crab leg struggle. We had all the fancy tools, but let’s be real—cracking open crab legs without flinging bits of shell and seafood juice onto yourself (and possibly your neighbor) is an Olympic sport. We lost. Badly. But we had fun, we made a mess, and our amazing waitress kept us stocked with napkins, wet naps, and zero judgment.

Bottom line? This place is a diamond in the rough. If you’re willing to look past the “questionable motel attached” vibe and embrace the adventure, you’ll be rewarded with one of the best meals in town. 10/10 would...

Bar patron literally pissing on the front door. Staff had to come clean. And fyi; he was allowed back into the establishment after bar staff was informed. And they continued to serve him more liquor until closing...

Edit (video 2): after posting this; this is what I am experiencing here. I am fairly certain this person is a member of staff. And as the video is cropped to 30seconds; you only see half. His hostility continues as I attempt to exit the attached hotel.

Further edit: apparently the gentleman in the 2nd videos name is Andrew Engi. And does have atleast some "ties" to the bar. Possibly even being the cook...

What makes this even more sad is that Andrew is a known addict and has atleast 3

On top of this; both Andrew and his female companion Jolene Ingram have both posted fake reviews. Both clearly being bias... but; that's not even the beginning... if you start looking; Isaac Ingram. Who is believed to be a real person...but still...keep looking ;)

Even further edit: love the response. Love how much of it is untrue. How about I add the rest of the names and videos and pictures? You want to talk about defamation..? Lol

And if any of it is true; why when the cops where "called on myself" did nothing happen? Cause they are...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at 50 North Pub & Eatery, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.

First off, the prices were more than fair for the quality of food and service we received. Sydney, our server, was absolutely wonderful—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better.

As a special touch, we were each given a complimentary oyster. They were cleaned to perfection and tasted amazing, both on their own and with the horseradish, hot sauce, and lemon that accompanied them.

The fish and chips were the true highlight of the meal. The fish was soft, buttery, and cooked to perfection, while the batter was light, crispy, and not greasy at all—easily the best I’ve had in a long time. We also ordered a side of poutine, and it was delightful. It had that comforting, nostalgic flavor that reminded me of growing up in a small town, and I mean that in the best way possible.

I also ordered a Caesar, and it was fantastic. It had just the right amount of spice to elevate the drink without overpowering it.

Overall, 50 North Pub & Eatery exceeded all expectations. If you’re looking for excellent food, and top-notch service, this is the place to go. Highly...
