I loved Burger Boy when I first lived in Red Deer and it hasn't changed much. If you can get past the fact it's in a rough area you're totally in for an old school treat.
The food is your classic old school burger joint and fried chicken fare served with your option of sides including (AMAZING) steak cut fries, (not) spicy curly fries, and old school onion rings. Kids meals come with one side and a fountain drink and standard meals come with two and a fountain drink.
Burger Boy also had old school milk shakes in a ton of flavors with a different "flavor of the month" every month. I totally with Cinnamon Heart was on the menu all the time though.
If I could change anything about the place it would be the processed cheese they use. I'm one of those people that just prefers real cheese and really the price difference isn't that far off (used to work in the industry) so there isn't much reason to use processed, especially for mozzarella 🤢. This is the reason I've taken a star off. Seriously I even like their mozzarella burger sauce, which they make themselves, and I won't touch the trash at A&W so USE REAL CHEESE...

The review below that says they are store bought burgers is totally wrong, and of course they wont replace your burger just because you don't like it. That's is ridiculous to expect a restaurant to replace your meal just because it wasn't what you were expecting. smh
Everything is awesome hand made and delicious. All prices are extremely reasonable compared to the overpricing of places like Five Guys and Fat Burger. I usually always order the same thing, a Single Boy w. Bacon & Cheese and extra BBQ Sauce, with a side of Chili Cheese Fries. Sometimes Ill switch it up though because everything on their menu is great. Even their Veggie Burger is phenomenal and I usually don't like vegan "meat". I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a real, downhome style burger joint. I eat there at least once...
Read moreDefinitely not the cleanest place I've seen. I asked about cross contamination (I'm a biopsy diagnosed Celiac) and they looked at me like I was from another planet.
The biggest issue is this: they recently had a Human Rights complaint ruled against them. A skip the dishes driver who has a paralyzed arm was denied a drink holder. How is a man with one arm supposed to manage? You can Google it and read the article.
I can understand shunning me for Celiac. Anything west of Ontario (until you hit B.C.) and some places will openly tell you it doesn't exist, just eat the bun. I can turn around and walk out, as I know they will not have my best interest in mind. But denying a paralyzed delivery driver with a drink tray? The guy is trying to earn a living in the best way he can. He lost out on money because of...
