Achti's Steak & Pizza — Restaurant in Redwater

If you're looking for an Italian restaurant, this will sort of fit the bill. Achti's does a few different types of culinary delights so not really a true Italian joint but you won't be disappointed no matter what you order. The pizza is very well done with a plethora of topping selections and predetermined topping options leave little to be desired. I've also had the Philly steak sandwich, it's not bad but I've had better with regard to a "Philly steak". With that said as a steak sandwich it was pretty good but not much about it fits into the Philly steak category. I'd eat it again either way, the flavour was there, the steak was cooked properly and wasn't dry or overcooked. The bun was soft too and didn't sponge up a ton of the juices which can usually be a problem for a sandwich like this. I was fortunate enough to be there on a day when Potato Bacon soup was the soup of the day and it was probably one of the best renditions of this soup I've had. Had a lovely late lunch steak at the New phenomenal restaurant that has graced our streets of REDWATER . Garden salads included these tear drop peppers that gave that umph of flavour. What a nice surprise Steaks for all three were done to.perfection. Service was very friendly and inviting! Desert was BEAUTIFUL...steaming hot ginger cake with sauce and ice cream...other plate was chocolate cherries cake. Succulent !! The Chef who's family name gives the origin of the name came and shook our hand. Very nice touch. Lacking was rice...only offer was steamed white...would have liked something different maybe with infusion of ethnic flavours. The gravy lacked flavour and the fries were nothing special. Soup choice was vegetable. Given that there is such an opportunity to experience an upper end outing in a small town maybe we could anticipate something more out of the norm FRIDAY'S is Prime Rib Night after 5pm BUT for us it's taxtime so.we will have to wait to indulge with a dining out adventure until April probably. There was only 1 server working. We waited about 10 minutes before someone seated us, we then waited about 15-20 minutes before someone came and took our drink order, and at that time our dinner order at the same time.

I ordered a steak, and potatoes. My meal came out cold, like it had been sitting for a while before being brought out. I didn’t eat mine.

After having our meals dropped at the table, we didn’t see the server after that, so I was unable to tell her my meal was freezing cold, and my steak was 95% fat and I could hardly cut through it.

By the time she came back, she saw I didn’t eat it and said “oh no let me get the kitchen to make you another one” at this time, everyone at the table was done eating, and we had been there long enough I just said no thank you.

She insisted on making another steak, to go. She said “if you’re paying for the meal, she wants me to leave happy.”

At this point, I should have been given a discount, not a free steak to take home in a cardboard to go container.

I never complain at a restaurant but this was a huge disappointment. $120 and I...
