Hate to be the breaker of bad news. Unfortunately, this was my first time being here, going to be my last. Beaks Chicken is nothing special, as all the reviews are saying. However, yes, reviews are thriving for the sandwiches and such, I had the medium family meal. Portion size is pretty good, but it isn't outstanding like most are saying. As for the customer service, it was pretty good, and I don't see anything wrong with it. The food took about 38 minutes to come out. Hopefully, it's fresh like everyone was saying. In reality, once ordered and given to me, the food eaten tasted freezer burnt for the whole meal. You get this semi sorta variety of chicken styles, powder gravy, and these dryer than Hell, I mean dry pickles. Makes you wonder if they're being stored properly along with any of the food. Sauces were warm, not cold. Sauces were next to flavorless, which just matched up with the zero flavor chicken. Fries appeared to be ok and cooked, right, however minimal seasoning for these too. 72 bucks taxes in, store front has people outside asking for change, bathroom was dirty when I looked didn't use it, and tables weren't being wiped after customers sat down at them, as the law requires. All in all, I wouldn't recommend eating here. Go spend 66 dollars at KFC or 60 at Popeyes. Unfortunately, Beaks Chicken just got beaked, all because they can't spend 2 dollars on at least some salt or...
Read moreOk, listen up. I'm old enough where Colenel Sanders himself brought me my KFC. It was really good back in the day. I don't have to mention how it is these days.
I've done Popeyes, Mary Browns, various pubs and restaurants, some very good, some not so great.
Now, let's talk about the best fried bird in Regina. Beaks West. There is nothing I can say thats negative. They are willing to go above and beyond to make sure you are 100% happy with your experience.
The chicken strips are absolutely M A S S I V E !! The odd time, you could swear it was almost an entire chicken breast. They must marinate them because the meat is piping hot ( even after taking a car ride), tender, juicy, and very well seasoned. The batter is killer! Crunchy, crispy, not soggy, just the perfect amount of saltiness and flavour. I've been told their sandwiches and waffles are also top shelf, and I belive it.
In addition to the food, I have recently had an experience there that topped it off. I won't publicly say what they did, but what they did was FAR AND ABOVE what any other fast food outlet has done for me. They really do care and strive to put the special touch on your experience. Nothing tops that.
Still wondering??? Don't! Go get some Beaks West all up in you, it will change the way you feel about fried bird. ...
Read moreBeaks is hands down the best chicken around - I don't get fried chicken from anywhere else now. The food is tasty as heck and always hot and fresh.
The staff at the West location are always incredibly friendly and quick to serve customers. I've never had to wait for service, and they are always super polite to me.
Lots of other reviews talk about the price being high, but I've paid the same at other establishments and received mediocre food and smaller portions. It doesn't seem to matter what I order at Beaks but I've always received a ton of food and it always tastes good.
The best thing on the menu is the Honey Hab sandwich - that honey hab sauce is just so good. The sandwich is absolutely massive, and the chicken has the taste and texture of real chicken (not that gross mush from KFC and Popeyes). I always get honey hab as my dipping sauce when I order chicken strips too (which are also massive!). Their chicken and waffles is the best around, and I've struggled to find another place that matches theirs.
I love having the West location as it's in my neighborhood and not a far drive like the East one - and it's easy to find parking too. Beaks West is my go-to place for eating out. I've never had a bad experience and...
