McCarthy Garden Chinese Food — Restaurant in Regina

Absolutely disgusted, I have ordered here in the past and never had an issue, last night ordered same thing we always do and hald way threw found bugs... 🤮🤮 Will never order here again!! Update after being treated very horribly on the phone by the first person a second person took over and was absolutely wonderful to work with.. they argued on my behalf and after threatening to take it to the papers only then was I given a full refund.. I get it bugs get in food sometimes and I wasn't even going to make a big deal till I was treated so poorly and told I was not allowed to order from them anymore (after this my whole family has no intention on doing so)..I was also called and asked to take my review down and the woman was very nice but I'm not taking it down.. I am upset cuz this was a restaurant we ordered from alot and can't believe how I was treated threw this all.. I appreciate getting a full refund and hope this restaurant does better in...

I'm being generous with one star. This was the worst meal I've had in a very, very long time. I don't think I've ever given a bad Google reviews, but this one deserves it. Besides the chicken balls being 90% batter with a piece of chicken the size of the tip of your finger, they tasted very sour (with no sauce). I googled that and got this: "The chicken may have gone bad. As chicken spoils, bacteria can cause it to develop a sour or pungent odor and an "off" taste". Lovely...the chicken fried rice was sticky/gooey and lacked flavour unless doused in soy sauce. I had to brush my teeth to get the sour taste off my tongue and it was still there after. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. 80% of it went in the garbage. Hate to leave a bad review, but I tried this place because it was recommended on a FB page. I can't believe people actually think this is good Chinese food. Look at the Google reviews and you'll figure out the best one...

I was fairly disappointed in the quality of food.

The lemon chicken was obviously a frozen mechanically-separated chicken patty (like the kind you find in bulk at Superstore) cut up into strips. Not a real chicken filet.

The ginger beef was stringy and dry. And there was Superstore-style frozen veggies put into the fried rice, rather than fresh veggies. (I found the tell-tale Lima beans in it from the "California-style" frozen veggies in the frozen food isle.)

The building I picked up from was in total disarray... Very dive and dirty looking.

Overall, there are LOTS of fantastic Chinese food joints in this city... But this is not...
