I VERY rarely make a public complaint but I had to share how absolutely horrific customer service with S R Kitchen on Rochdale was. We were pretty regular customers and ordered a meal this evening, when my food arrived it was cold, soggy, and the chicken tasted freezer burnt. We called and explained and ask for either an exchange for fresh cooked food or a refund for the meal (and give them the meal back) given this is a rare occurrence. Instead the cook, who also said he was the manager and part owner when I asked to speak to them - gave excuse as to why the food was freezer burnt, mushy and cold. I offered to come pick it up fresh as one excuse was the “20 minute drive” which google maps says I live closer than that. However, he maintained that their food was always a final sale NO possible substitutions or refunds EVEN if there was something wrong with the food. He said “this rarely happens” to which, I responded that we have ordered there for years and also never complained about an issue before - so considering this was our first call with an issue it would be good customer service practice to assist in these situations. He maintained that he DID NOT charge us for their service instead all they charge is for “supplies and labour”. I let him know this was terrible customer service and I would be leaving a public review to which he THREATENED to sue me via his lawyer if I did so.
** Adding this to respond to the comment that SR replied with - Dude, are you for real? All of what you’re saying is completely untrue and you have done nothing but talk down to your other reviewers. Also, no one said anything about Black Friday? Nor did I say I spent all my money on Black Friday? I said, “this time of year with Christmas expenses, given some people are short on funds - if they are placing an order with a business it should be for their money’s worth”. No where at any point did I specify my finances. You’re saying I couldn’t afford to pay for the food that I did in fact PAY for but the entire complaint was that I had PAID for food that was extremely terrible. Further to that, you’re saying I call places to get free food and refunds? This comment alone is just wild. I offered to bring the food back to your restaurant I.E not free food if I’m returning said food to you, (also not free food when it ended up in the garbage). The entire post you made makes no logical sense. You’re a business owner and how you’ve continued to respond to reviews by customers that weren’t happy with service has been completely unprofessional from what I have seen and read. Also, if I “spent all my money” from “Black Friday shopping” man, I wouldn’t have ordered Dewdney Gardens right after to replace this awful meal - which I would HIGHLY recommend over S R Kitchen.

Read moreI used to love this place, now every time I go I’m frustrated. The food is good, generally but their time management has been so terrible for the last 6 months or so. I order food, get told to come in X minutes. And I still end up waiting 15-30 mins longer. I would much prefer being told I need to wait an hour and do so at home vs going there and standing shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of people in the same boat. The food is also prepared and different paces. By the time my last dish is ready the other ones are cold. Also yesterday there was a kid jumping around and one guy getting mad at someone was else. I understand there is stress but I think some solid thinking in terms of time management would help this place a lot. Read moreJust gross! Very disappointing - never again!! Use to be good under previous ownership. We ordered dinner for 3 plus an order of chicken balls. The shrimp was as hard as hockey pucks and we gave up trying to bite into them, Eggrolls were over cooked; received only 2 packets of eggroll sauce; no sweet and sour sauce for chicken balls, and hardly any beef in our beef and vegetable dish. I called to complain, and the manager offered to deliver the sauce, to which I replied we'd already eaten. Silence. I told him how unhappy we were with service especially for what it cost, and that I would leave an online review and he LAUGHED. See how funny that is now!
