First of all, The food was salty, way too salty.
I had a not-so-good experience at Swiss Chalet tonight. We ordered a kid's pizza meal for our son, but they gave us a chicken filet set instead. My son refused to eat it. When we informed the waitress about the mistake, she said we would have to wait another 15 minutes without offering an apology. We decided to wait for the original order.
Later, when my son had only eaten half of his pizza, the waitress approached us and asked what kind of dessert we wanted. We asked her about the dessert options for the kids' meal, and she mentioned ice cream and apple sauce. We chose the ice cream, but when it arrived, my wife noticed that there were supposed to be different toppings available, which the waitress had failed to mention.
During the check-out process, the waitress informed us that the payment machine was not working and we had to pay in cash. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough cash in my wallet. Strangely, we noticed that the table next to us had just paid using the machine without any issues. (They were with another waiter) When we questioned the waitress about this, she said she would have to speak to her manager. In the end, we discovered that all the machines were working fine except for hers.
The entire experience with the waitress made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. She consistently lied to us, providing false information and avoiding cooperation with her colleagues. She tried to convince us to take the wrong order by saying we have to wait for an extra 15 mins, so she wouldn’t have to return the wrong dish to kitchen . she didn’t mention about the topics for ice cream, so she wouldn’t have to communicate with the kitchen’s staff. she ask the costumer to pay by cash instead of looking for solution from her manager. It seemed like she was refused to communicate or work together...
Read moreSwiss Chalet is one of my favorite restaurants. My daughter and I frequent either the Aurora or the Vaughan location at least once a week. Today while shopping at Hillcrest, decided to try the one in the plaza. It was absolutely the worst we have ever had. My daughter had the rib meal. After waiting almost 30 minutes, we were shocked and disappointed at both the portion sizes and the cook. My daughters ribs were stone cold. I got up and went to get the server to tell her. She came and scooped up the cold ribs and about 10 minutes later a gentleman (not sure if it was the manager) brought out a new rack. My daughter took a bite and said she could not eat it as it tasted rotten. I tried a small corner and found the meat tasted old, perhaps from the day before, just reheated. She left the rest of rib after eating only one small corner. We both told the server and the Manager that she could not eat the ribs as they tasted old and flavorless. The server said "oh sorry". We received a full bill for the food, no discount for the rotten ribs. I did not complain because I was looking for a discount, but feel we should have been offered another meal as her food was barely touched. My daugther and I had to go into the mall to get something to eat for her.
Maybe the manager's should go visit the Auroa Restaurant to see what true customer service and food quality looks like. I am very upset and will be sharing my story to all my friends, family and colleagues. I am very disappointed and will be contacting the Swiss Chalet Head Office as I believe there is an issue at this location that needs to...
Read moreJust finished watching the new Jurassic movie on cheapie Tuesday, why not top this off with Swiss Chalet's cheapie Tuesday chicken dinner for 2 at $20 (nn to order 2 drinks). After watching dinosaurs annihilate humans with ease my appetite was ravenous.
Choice of sides, went with their fries and Caesar salad. Choose dark meat, $2 extra if you're into white meat.
Ordered their chicken soup which was excellent, loaded with vegetables, pasta shells and white chicken meat, the flavor profile soothed my soul.
When it came to the 2 chicken entrees, if you're just interested in satisfying your hunger pangs eating like a caveman savage then the chicken does it's job, as far quality goes, meh
I found the chicken overcooked, however some people say it's cooked just right when the chicken is falling off the bone. Really???, to reach their own. The chicken did come with secret gravy type sauce called Chalet sauce. Quite an interesting flavor profile, hard to describe as the sauce was brown like gravy but had a slight citrusy tang, I was hungry and so confused.
This location was quite large with comfortable booth seating. Our server was an older Asian lady who was quite efficient, didn't need to write down our order, I'm always amazed with this ability as I can't even remember where I put down my phone on a daily basis.
All in all would I come back, with prices continually rising, you can't beat their Tuesday special. Can't complain about the quality as it's good value for your hard earned money. Carney you...
