Came to Ramona’s for the first time for brunch, and had high hopes given the great reviews. It took 20 mins to be seated, which was okay as we took a stroll in the mall. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing.

Iced Americano was incredibly sour. Either it was under extracted or the water wasn’t hot enough passing through the espresso machine? It was not drinkable, thankfully the server was kind to allow me to change my drink. The grapefruit juice was pricey but indeed fresh and nice.

Once the food came, my husband’s meal came in a little bucket? It was very bizarre, and we had no cutlery. Understanding that the servers were probably busy, we waited for them to bring us the cutlery but they didn’t. Eventually someone asked how the food was and we still had no cutlery, so we asked them to please bring it. It took them a long time to come back with cutlery, at which point we were quite hungry and I did have a few bites with my hands. Finally someone came with cutlery.

The spicy omelette was not seasoned at all, so I spent a good few minutes heavily seasoning the food with the salt and pepper at the table. If I come to a restaurant and pay $20 for a dish, I do expect it to have some seasoning? There was also no spice or spiciness to the “spicy omelette”. The worst part was the large amount of cooked arugula inside the omelette was EXTREMELY BITTER. Frankly it was inedible and ruined the whole dish. Husband tried a little piece and immediately spat it out.

This tells me the kitchen probably does not taste their food or test for quality control.

Potatoes were good and the salad was just there. Thankfully it had no arugula.

Husband’s dish was a poutine with hollandaise which was actually very tasty with lots of cheese, the hollandaise was a cool twist. It would have been nice if it came in a proper dish and not a little bucket. It just made for an awkward dining experience, to be eating from a little bucket.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won’t...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ramona's Kitchen, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This charming restaurant offers not only the best food but also the best service I have encountered in a long time.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Ramona's Kitchen go above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Their attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and genuine care for customer satisfaction are truly remarkable. It’s clear that they take pride in providing top-notch service, which made the dining experience all the more enjoyable.

As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and expertly balanced. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or something light and refreshing, the menu offers a wide variety of options that cater to all tastes. The presentation of the dishes was also impressive, making the entire experience a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

I highly recommend trying their signature dishes, as they truly showcase the culinary expertise of the kitchen. From appetizers to desserts, every bite was a delight. The ingredients were of the highest quality, and the creativity in each dish was evident.

In addition to the fantastic food and service, the ambiance of Ramona's Kitchen is cozy and inviting. It’s the perfect place for a casual meal with friends or a special celebration with loved ones.

Overall, Ramona's Kitchen has set the bar high for both service and food quality. It’s a gem of a restaurant that I will undoubtedly return to time and time again. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than...

I've had great experiences with the original Thornhill location but the service at this location is absolutely terrible.

Food for starters was great, good presentation and tastes great.

Service on the other hand, absolutely terrible. Avoid this place; they act like they are doing you a favor by serving you.

We were a party of 11- having family visiting from overseas I recommended we have Friday afternoon brunch at Ramonas. Upon checking in for a table, staff in a shirt (not in uniform-perhaps manager?) snobbily said they could not accommodate such a large party. We agreed to sit separately. We were given two 4-person tables that were on opposite ends of the restaurant. This was late afternoon around 2PM so the lunch rush had already passed.

Upon both tables being available, one table beside the table we got was paying their bill and we had just sat down without any service or cutlery, water, etc. We politely asked the server if we could have that table to sit with our family. They said that the table was taken.. It was literally a 4-person table for another and would have made no difference nor no delay in the service of the next table. Even the ladies who just finished their meal at the table suggested we take their table and I advised we were not allowed.

Service was mediocre, not a smile on the servers face as if they were doing us a great favor. Ironic as there are little signs throughout telling us to be nice to the server as they are trying their best and the importance of a smile. Ha. The irony.

So unfortunate the management at this location is such an embarrassment as the food is...

I visited Ramona's Kitchen's Richmond Hill location a few days ago for the first time, for brunch. Upon arriving, I was quickly seated at a table, however was advised that I'd only have a limited amount of time to stay (I believe it was 70 mins. I wasn't planning on staying that long, but I was waiting for one of my friends to join me, and while I understand it was out of courtesy for all guests to be able to enjoy time at the café and given the café is at a mall which influences on how busy it may be, I felt like that warning was somewhat off-putting as the first thing said to me as soon as I sat down by the server, and a little rushed, even though we would have respected the time limit as we had some shopping to do in the mall, regardless). The café was clean with a modern atmosphere, but due to small space, the tables were kind of cramped alongside another. Service was good. In terms of menu items, we ordered Blueberry Pancakes, Schnitzel Benedict, the Nutella Iced Latte, and a Blue Matcha Latte. The food was presented very beautifully, and it tasted great as well! The portion sizes were very good as well, we both could not finish our meals. Prices were fair. Overall, I would definitely visit again to try some other menu items, but will try to avoid such a busy time if at all possible, thanks!

EAT WELL @ramonaskitchen! It is a place that offers all day breakfast plus more 🍳🥞🍔🥞 Owner and Chef Carlo Carlucci have been around since 2015 alongside with his wife Ramona (yes there really is a Ramona) running their original location in Thornhill. And now they have recently opened locations in Leaside and Richmond Hill right inside Hillcrest Mall. Carlo have have created a pretty wicked Brunch Menu along with waffles, omelettes and some of the BEST variations of Eggs Benedicts. Including The Avocado & Grilled Tomato Benny without the CARBS. Every plate comes with tri-coloured home fries or mixed greens. Besides Brunch items, they make a mean Schnitzel plate and burgers are delicious. Everything is so good but if you are craving for something on the sweet side, my fave was Ramona’s Banana Bread. They also have amazing lattes … from matcha to their very photogenic Blue Lavender Latte! ☕️🍵 Brunch Menu Mushroom Asparagus Benedict Smoked Salmon Benny Avocado & Grilled Tomato Benny Chicken Waffles Greek Omelette Lunch/Dinner Burger Benny Schnitzel Plate Porcini Penne Spicy Flatbread Chocolate Blueberry Pancakes Challah French Toast Ramona’s Banana Bread We just loved everything and highly recommend you visit Ramona’s!! 😊 For more food adventures follow me @hungry.jo on Instagram
