We bought the special 6 people feast from dealuse for a birthday celebration. food tasted a little above average. We were well attended by our friend who is working there. But it all went downhill until the end, we did not call for the bill but another server made our friend sent it to our table saying we asked for it. We immediately felt like we were being pushed to leave. Went to the front to pay for GST and the bill (we ordered some drinks). I misread the bill and gave $5 less than the 10% tip margin. The cashier (who is actually the manager) first asked me pay in cash with this frown on her face. Then I told her I don't have cash and her attitude became worse. She then confronted me saying "did you not know how to read the bill? You had to pay $15 for gst and drinks, plus tips." That's when I realized I misread the bill but I was greatly offended by her attitude. Even then I still decided to give them their 10% at least. As if that was not enough, the lady shook her head when she thought I wasn't looking. Then passed me my receipt without looking at me or saying a word. I did not want to make a fuss but I have to say that was the worst customer service I have ever seen at any restaurant for the past 15 years. Last time I recall, tips are EARNED by superior customer service, if you want 15% or 20%, provide the service that deserves this amount. We will not be coming back or any event,...
Read moreThe food is alright. I have eaten at plenty of Chinese restaurants across the Lower Mainland and I did not feel this one stood out in any way. One of the dishes ordered was the smoked duck (half) for $28.95, which is a popular dish recommended by the waitress that served us. The reason for the 1 star is the unethical behavior perpetuated by the management, trying to overcharge customers hoping it wouldn't be caught. When the bill came, they charged $39.95 for the duck. When I told them that the menu showed the price of $28.95, you would think the normal behavior is to apologize and correct the error. Instead, this lady (likely one of the management) had the audacity to comment about how the cost of a duck is expensive these days. I had to push them to double check the menu and one of the waitresses eventually did. Of course, the price was wrong and they ended up correcting it, with an attitude (seriously, what's wrong with some people these days?). There were probably many customers that got overcharged who didn't catch the error that day. Stay away from scammy businesses like this one. As a Canadian born in China, places like this is an embarrassment and no one should be giving them...
Read moreOur family’s go to restaurant for years. Consistently good food.
Finally made back here for dine-in service after a long pandemic. Service is fast and very friendly. Food is so much better when it comes straight from the kitchen to your table. Compared to takeout; where by the time you get it home … food is lukewarm.
XLB have a lot of juice and very flavourful and is a must try.
We ordered the 3 course Peking Duck. Menu says 2 course but you can order it with the soup for an extra $13.
The Peking Duck came with 12 pastry wraps. All three courses were very good.
Our favourite dish here is the Dry Ginger Beef. Deep fried strips of ginger beef coated with a sweet spicy sauce.
Pork Chops with Pepper & Spicy Salt were crispy and not overly spicy. Perfect for someone like me that can’t handle...
