The front door is unassuming, it might even scare you away. We arrived in the rain to a very warm welcome. We chose to sit at the bar on a quiet night. We had a delicious Quebec apple vermouth to wet our appetite. The two chefs were welcoming and chatty. But it’s their food that merits praise. We shared two entrées and our waiter took care to space them just right. The first was a delicious carpaccio of octopus with rye crackers. The dressing was light and lemony. What followed was beautifully rich foie gras with toasted pain brioché and the last sautéed fresh chanterelles of the season. The Crozes-Hermitage had arrived at that stage and was delicious. One of us had delicious rare tataki tuna on a bed of roasted corn with very thinly sliced bacon. The other had sautéed ricotta gnocchi with mushrooms and sumptuous boudin noir made in house. I’m a fan of boudin and I think this was the best ever. The dishes were copious but having sighted many deserts being plated in front of us we couldn’t resist the crème brûlée (a little hint, the caramelized sugar is not store bought powdered sugar because of it impurities but white sugar pulverized through the Vitamix, in house again)! Restaurants like this are little gems that are a rare thing but especially in a city of this size! It’s worth the 8 hour drive! Merci et à très bientôt!

This was hands down the best octopus I’ve ever had—absolutely flawless! Every bite was a new, delightful experience, and if I could eat here every day, I would. My husband and I are both foodies, and we couldn’t resist wiping our plates clean. I’d recommend this place a million times over!

Simply an amazing experience. Food was delicious, staff were warm, friendly, and engaging. Fois Gras appetizer was delicious, Beef main (sous vide, hanger steak) was so flavourful, cooked to perfection. The Scallop Gnocchi was just perfect-better than any gnocchi I have had anywhere else. The Creme Brûlée, made with a fois gras base, was perhaps the best dessert I have ever eaten. A...
