Unable to review the food or sevice and the atmosphere was a little creepy . Been years since i ate at half moon , so popped in for some food on tuesday june 13 at approx 1130 am . Stood by the window for a couple mins then tried to peek thru the tinted windows to try to see any movement , nothing , ok i thought maybe they don't do orders from there anymore so i walked inside and stood at the counter and waited for the young lady to finish sorting whatever she was sorting under the counter . Ok cool she's getting up to serve me now , nope she gets up and walks away , ok so i start doing some heavy thinking , maybe they don't open during the weekdays and the people eating at the tables are friends and family ? , maybe i have to ring up and cook the food myself ? ( i'd be ok cooking but have no idea how to work a cash register lol ) , do i have to phone ahead and make an appointment ? , well this is getting a little awkward now and i feel like i crashed someones private party . I head to my vehicle and on my way out i see a sign that says entrance , oh i get it now , it's a drive thru ! ok tell everyone i think this is it , so i drive all the way around the building looking for the window and past all the people eating at the outdoor tables and not seeing any order windows i just drive out , now 100% positive that i invaded a private party . Some signage informing that that they were closed to the public would have been a nice gesture . Anyway ,we just went to sonia's for a nice...
Read moreWe stopped in for supper, and sure glad we did. The place was humming...order fast food on the left, and ice cream on the right, keeps any lineups short. Ordered chili dog, saturn burger, chicken fingers, homemade fries, curly fries and onion rings. All were enjoyed by all. Chili dog...the weiner popped which I love....if you are expecting it smothered in chili like I was, well that wasn't the case. It was more or less squirted on like ketchup, didn't run out of the bun at all, and couldn't taste the little bit that was there. The saturn burger was great, the homemade fries, curly fries and onion rings were fantastic along with the gravy, The order got a bit mixed up and the drinks had no fiz, but they fixed that up quickly with some hot juicy fingers plus an extra, and replaced the pop with bottled pop, no questions asked, no extra charges. When the owners trust their servers and allow them to do that, I truly respect the place, and am ready to return. Ice cream for dessert...soft ice cream was fantastic, the two scoop hard ice cream looked like a four scooper, and the shake was great. Yes, prices are on the high side, but worth the experience and taste for me. Even tho the place was very busy, we had all our food in reasonable time. Great...
Read moreTo start, the atmosphere is an interesting throw back. That's about all which was good. While the staff was okay, they are all young employees, with no older supervisor seen on site, (which makes me nervous since there's no active manager to keep the respect there).
Now, first of all the food here is demonstrably EXPENSIVE for what you actually get. The burgers are so bland, and ridiculously small in size with minimal toppings for a quote "loaded" burger. Even with fried onions on the burger it was still tasteless meat.
Aside, from no attempt at seasoning their meat, I'd be surprised if the burgers are more than an inch tall and barely measure 2.5 inch across. They are so small... And, so pricey, a Bacon Burger was $7.90 each (the price for what you get is outrageous).
The fries were just okay, but the containers are so tiny for the large size - and they are also expensive, and the portions are too small for what you pay for. Same goes for the tiny portion of onion rings you get as well.
With the meal and a couple of small ice cream cones, we paid over $70.00. This was to me a shame, (so very expensive for what you get). We left shaking our heads, making the experience a joke.
I will never return and I will...
