Sonia's Stand — Restaurant in Rural Municipality of St. Clements

My wife and I just got back from Sonia's Stand from lock port, we would always stop their for a hamburger and fries or pierogies and fries. The burgers were always good last year but this one trip today we ordered: 2 fish and chips, 16.95 each 2 cheese burgers, 6.95 1 pierogies 9.50 and a large fry. total bill was over $70.00 including 1 bottle water. there was nothing that tasted good

it was all JUST passable witch was a shock to me and my wife. the burgers were rubber, and had no flavour except the cheese that had no real cheese flavour the fish tasted like it was frozen then nuked and than deep fried! and the tarter sauce just tasted old it was bad. we did not get the large fries they never put the fries in our order. the fish was so bad we chucked it and decided to eat the burgers, but that was just bad too but eatable as the wife and I were hungry. when I got home I phoned them told them about what had happened about the order of fries we never got in the order, they asked what we ordered and I told them, than I was told they don't have pierogies!!!! my wife was holding them in her hand when the person on the phone said that. they did not apologies or offer a anything for the missing fries.oh and we never received the receipt so could not prove we paid for the fries. we been going there for years today went so bad including the costumer service we will not be returning. we were regulars there. to bad all they had to do was at least acknowledge the fact they messed up and would address the problem. Nope not even that. I hope it was just an off day but some how I doubt...

We went to Sonia's a few weeks ago and it was really good, nice people working there and the guy even gave our dog some ice cream .We had a burger ,hot dog and fries and one burger with nothing on it ,for the dog. It was wonderful ,although the hot sauce on our burger and hot dog was little too hot for us . UPDATE . We went to Sonia's today and hd the same as before except asked for raw onions and no hot sauce. Well, the person was angry and pretty much called us liars and they have never had hot sauce and that was it. She was so mad at us. What the heck !!!! We know what hot sauce is and our earlier ones had it on our order . Why in heavens would we lie ? This time the food was almost inedible and the lady was so nasty . We won't be going back and will instead go to skinner's for the better menu with really nice staff who do not accuse you of lying. Sonia's ,whoever owns it now should get...

Preface: first time coming here

We walked up at 7:50 and was greeted by two smiling faces (see why this is awesome later). We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a large fries. Paid and went back to the car to wait. While in the car we looked to see what time they were open until because we weren't sure if they closed at 8pm(googlemaps) or 9pm(applemaps) ... when we looked at the sign in the window, to our horror they closed in 6mins. Both the person I was with and myself have worked in kitchens for the better part of our lives and we are now the people we have hated for all these years. Sorry for coming so close to you guys being closed 😬. Thank you 🥰

Double Cheeseburger: 9.5/10 best burger I've paid for in over five years. Fries: The only way they could possibly be better is if they were home cut. Staff: absolutely awesome!
