Food 1/5. Seems promising at first. Cold beer and good crab cakes but mostly a let down from there. Disappointing for a such an expensive restaurant.
Calamari was skinny and not that juicy, but still tasty. 3/5
Crab cakes were good sauce was good, no complaints. 4/5
$34 Salmon was so dry I only ate half, and it was pretty small already. It’s like a $7 piece from save-ons. I'll eat the rest at home with some superstore tzatziki. Comes with sliced boiled carrots still half raw, lol, salty overfried potato wedges you’d get on the ferry, and no sauce. Asparagus so skinny that it could not possibly be juicy or crunchy. They also did not snap off the woody ends. 4 out of 6 of our meals had this bad asparagus's. Honestly if you cooked it like this at home you would not be happy.
If you call this seasonal vegetables then owner does not know how to select or serve good ingredients. 0.5/5
The only reason I did not send it back was because we were celebrating a very special occasion and we were all pretty happy, I did not want to spoil the memory.
$40 Steak tasted fine, flamed grilled and pink but not extremely tender either. Same bad asparagus on everyone’s meal. But for an expensive steak you could make it better at home for probably $15 2/5
$28 Half rack of ribs was good, fall off the bone. Had sauce and buttery mash potatoes. Same asparagus 4/5
My brothers chicken seemed dry.
Service was mid. Seemed like mostly teenagers. Etiquette was polite but perhaps not had high end as they’d like to make you believe. They did not take away dirty plates at logical times, and for an expensive and nice restaurant you’d think they’d box your leftovers for you in the back instead of giving you the box to do it yourself.
I’m being picky but this is an expensive restaurant and our group of 6 came for a nice celebrating and spent a lot of money so we...

I have been to this restaurant several times over the years and always had a great meal along with a great time with whomever I was with. Thursday I said to my companion that we should go to the Med Grill for dinner because I have never had a bad meal there. The food is always great and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately dinner last night was not so good. We started with the MedBread with 3 dips (all garlic) and then we started with our meals. My partner had the Braised Beef Dip and fries, the beef was chewy and over seasoned with salt. The au jus tasted like smoke had been added, and way too much pepper & salt. The fries were cooked perfectly but they were covered in salt again.. My meal I had the Tuscan Dinner. The Ahi Tuna was delish, then I got the salad it was the caesar salad with blue cheese sun-dried tomatoes and a heavy smoked bacon. With the salad dressing it was just way too over powering. There were too many anchovies in the dressing, then you add the blue cheese, heavy smoked bacon and sun-dried tomatoes and with all these different flavours, they were working against each other and made it difficult to eat much of it. My main course was partly good. I had the chilean baby back ribs. and those were very good and tender. The garlic mashed potatoes had so much salt in them I couldn't even taste the garlic in them. Then with the chocolate dessert we did share and it was very good. Our server is one of your newest hires, it was only her 2nd shift and I must say she is a great social young woman and very efficient. Her service skills are great and she is a great addition to your team and a keeper. I am hoping the next time I go, the food is better and the cooks have started to taste their food to make sure it is seasoned properly. I will go back for...
Read moreThursday night dinner and the parking lot was packed. This charming restaurant in Royal Oak has a wonderful reputation with years of service to its patrons. While the charming decor is simple, Management appears to be running this little gem into the ground by not even doing basic maintenance to the facade and lighting. Staff at this restaurant are polite and enthusiastic but the kitchen really let down the patrons on this occasion. We ordered the Three Dip Med Bread as a starter with roasted Garlic and herb Butter, it was tasty. The Tuscan dinner was creative enough to tempt my companion who stated the Ahi Tuna was perfect. Unfortunately an over the top indulgence of smoke, blue cheese, sun dried tomato, smoked bacon and dressing completely overwhelmed the salad starter much to our disappointment . My Braised Brisket Beef Dip was served on a soft Portuguese bun along with perfectly cooked potato fries. There were unfortunately some difficulties with the brisket, it was too salty and chewy in texture, the dip was also much too salty and aged in flavour but the worst was that the kitchen had liberally covered the fries with Himalayan Salt crystals which completely ruined their flavour profile. My companion got the 1/2 Rack of Chilean baby back ribs gently covered in a sweet mango/mesquite sauce that got two thumbs up for flavour and tenderness. The roasted garlic whipped potatoes that accompanied the main were overwhelmingly salty and disappointing in their flavour. As couples occasionally do, we shared the dessert of Chocolate torte with whipped cream and topped with chocolate shavings and found it light and fluffy, delish. Overall, our meals were over seasoned and had exceedingly strong flavour profiles lacking in harmony. We were treated well by the wait staff but in this case the kitchen...
