Naming their noodle soup “pho” in the menu is very disrespectful to our Vietnamese pride. The broth was super bland without even a subtle taste or smell of cinnamon or star anise and not hot enough to cook the rare beef even though we dipped it into the broth the moment our food was served. The new owner should either learn how to make the broth properly (I believe it’s so popular that you can find the recipe anywhere from the Internet to someone in your acquaintance list. What matters is wherher the cooks care enough to follow it) or change their dish name or restaurant name. Should be “Asian cafe” rather than “Vietnamese cafe”. Another turn-off was seeing two employees making spring rolls in the dining area. First, no masks were worn and they were talking to each other the whole time we were there so imagine how much saliva was splashed onto their rolls. Second, it’s a dining area so customers kept going in and out and they all sat very close to the fillings container, so here came bacteria! Last, I hope they didn’t let that fillings container stay out at room temperature for more than 2 hours because our required Food Safe course does not advise any food handler to do so. I know lots of restaurants are doing the same, but please don’t let the customers see that. Their prices are definitely higher than lots of other Vietnamese restaurants’ in Victoria so please make...

“The pho was amazing. Last time I tried it was a few years ago. The beef was very nice. Would recommend dipping the meat int the Sriracha and Hoisin sounds. A plus for flavour. Also the Vietnamese crepes were good. Little crispy for my liking but still goes hard.” -Everett
“Just the right amount of sauce, noodles. Spring rolls were perfect. Pork was excellent. There was too little prawns. Wasn’t enough prawns” -Joel

Read moreI try not to leave negative reviews in general but my experience was really bad here. Two days ago I ordered a prawn salad roll for take out. The salad roll was 95% lettuce, no vermicelli noodles, and had two very meager half slices of shrimp. I’ve been to this place a few years ago but they never made them this disappointing before. I would have just let this slide if the food was just sad, but I also got horrendous food poisoning the next morning, and I’m seeing no that I’m not the only one who has been affected. I also only had bread that day so I know it wasn’t from something else. For your customers safety, please do a better job at following food safety practices. I’m still dealing with the food...
