Restaurant Texas Star — Restaurant in Saint-Eustache

Our reservation was for 5:30 pm - we arrived at the restaurant about 5:25- ordered our drinks - which arrived promptly. The restaurant was not too busy so we thought good timing. Our waitress came and we ordered our drinks and dinners - which the drinks arrived fairly fast. We thought that if our drinks arrived that fast our 5 dinners would be somewhat the same - thought wrong. I tried getting our waitresses attention as she was standing at the bar which we were right beside but to no avail. The waitress, the bartender and another staff member we drinking wine at the bar with some other patrons. Shortly after that, the 3 of them progressed to drink shooters at the bar. We as patrons thought this was inappropriate for the staff to be drinking while somewhat working. Finally at 6:30, we ( a party 0f 5) had had enough and I went over to ask our server when will we be getting our dinner. She replied " it will be there shortly" - it came about 20 minutes later. Shortly is 5 minutes - not 20 minutes. Our son and his family who live in St. Eustache , and ourselves who came out from Ontario have had dinner at the restaurant a number of times but this was the absolute worst service we ever had. I can personally say the we will not be back to that restaurant again. The food was OK but the service...

This was not our first time in this restaurant and it will be our last, we will not come here again. I do not recommend. We came for dinner two families one family came from America. The menu is only in French and we had to translate the menu instead of talking to our relatives. Not only does the waitress not speak English, but at the end when we left a tip of $30 she made a dissatisfied face and said that it was not enough, I added another $20 she began to tell me that she receives a minimum wage and she will have to pay out of her own pocket, I wanted to tell her that I also receive a minimum wage but I remained silent. I said that tips are generally optional and are not asked for, but she stood and waited some more. I felt so uncomfortable and inconvenient from this whole situation, the first time I was so brazenly asked for a tip. Then my brother gave her another $20 American dollars, I asked if she was happy now and she also made an unhappy face after she received a $75 tip when we left. My relatives from America were also shocked by such impudence and unprofessionalism. We will never return...

On a eu une table du côté bar. Il aurait été apprécié de nous demander si ça nous convenait vu la musique forte et les gens qui parlent très fort, voir même qui crient. La personne qui a versé de l’eau dans nos verres en a versé la moitié à côté et n’a pas essuyé. J’ai donc pris ma serviette de table pour essuyer. Pour le service des drink, rien à dire. Pour l’entrée, nous avons pris celle à partager. C’était somme toute correct mais les ‘pelures’ de pomme de terre étaient froide. Pour les plats principaux, j’ai pris le hamburger. Quelle surprise à ma 1re bouchée: aucun condiment. J’attendais de voir notre serveuse pour lui demander des condiments mais comme je ne la voyais pas après de longues minutes j’ai demandé à un autre serveur. Le hamburger n’était ni bon ni pas bon, juste ordinaire. Les frites correctes et la salade de chou excellente! J’en aurais pris plus! Mon conjoint a pris le steak à 48$ qui est supposé être le plus populaire et le meilleur! Il a demandé la cuisson médium. Pour la 1re moitié la cuisson était bonne. Mais la 2e moitié c’était très saignant, à la limite bleu. Il l’a mangé quand même parce que à ce prix là, il ne voulait pas gaspiller, mais n’était vraiment pas satisfait. Oui nous aurions pu le retourner mais on nous a souvent dit de ne jamais retourner une assiette en cuisine! Pour une assiette de ce prix, des légumes frais plutôt que congelés auraient été de mise! Et la sauce, liquide et pas très goûteuse. Il a reçu son assiette sans couteau à steak. Il a commencé à couper son steak avec le couteau à beurre car encore une fois, pas de serveuse aux alentours. Le serveur nous a encore aidé. Une chance qu’il était là! En plus il était souriant, contrairement à notre serveuse (Myriam je crois). Le goût du steak était correct, sans plus et pas très tendre. L’accompagnement de champignons était vraiment excellent et les crevettes étaient bonnes. Notre serveuse est venue nous voir vers la fin de notre repas pour savoir si tout était correct. Nous avions une table pour 4 alors que nous étions 2. Une chance car nous sommes restés avec les verres de cocktail vide tout le long du repas! Un homme est venu prendre la 2e table pour donner à un groupe qu’il venait d’installer à côté de nous. Je n’ai aucun problème avec ça mais il y a une façon de faire! Nous le demander poliment plutôt que de tasser la table sans rien dire alors qu’on avait des choses sur la tables (mon cellulaire entre autre) et un verre qu’on avait pas terminé. Assez ordinaire!!! C’était notre première visite et notre dernière! Une facture de près de 200$, pas de service et nourriture pas à la hauteur du prix.
