Restaurant Villa D'Este — Restaurant in Saint-Jérôme

We have been hoping to try this place for a very long time and seeing the raving reviews, we came in with pretty high expectations,. After a great start with the warm atmosphere of both the decor and staff, we thought we'd be in for a night to remember. Unfortunately, our initial impressions were quite changed when we saw, and tasted our main courses. My wife took the veal osso bucco, and I took the steak+shrimp plate. Both meals were quite underwhelming. The osso bucco wasn't particularly tender, and the sauce tasted of canned tomato paste. The filet mignon was cooked rare as requested, but felt a little hard to chew. The accompaniments were quite disappointing as well, some generic blanched veggies and chicken broth yellowed rice, which both looked and tasted like something you'd get at Vieux Duluth. Restaurant Villa D’Este is truly a gem. The tagliatelle with shrimp and Alfredo sauce was simply out of this world, rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. What made the experience even more special was being personally served by the owner, Alvaro, who is not only welcoming but also a passionate and genuine host.

The terrace is legendary, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers, offering a peaceful and elegant setting. Inside, the restaurant feels like a time capsule filled with warm memories of great customer experiences over the years. You can feel the soul of this place.

From the food to the ambiance to the incredible service, it’s five stars all around. I highly recommend Villa D’Este to anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine with heart.

Le restaurant Villa D’Este est une véritable perle. Les tagliatelles aux crevettes avec sauce Alfredo étaient absolument exceptionnelles, une sauce onctueuse, savoureuse et parfaitement maîtrisée. Ce qui a rendu le moment encore plus unique, c’est d’avoir été servi personnellement par le propriétaire, Alvaro, un homme accueillant, passionné et authentique.

La terrasse est tout simplement légendaire, entourée de plantes et de fleurs, créant une ambiance paisible et élégante. À l’intérieur, le décor est empreint de nostalgie, rempli de souvenirs d’expériences clients chaleureuses au fil des années. On sent l’âme de ce lieu.

De la cuisine à l’ambiance en passant par le service, tout mérite cinq étoiles. Je recommande vivement Villa D’Este à tous les amateurs de cuisine italienne authentique...

Had a pre birthday dinner here. We had the baked oysters, then I had a house salad and the sweet bread ( Ris de veau) which was devine! It was in a calvados sauce with mushrooms.I also had a both of the veal Marsala and the pasta carbonara …all yummy… but my choice was scrumptious.
