A.M. Dejeuner Diner — Restaurant in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

I really enjoyed this place in the past; however I am afraid that it has lost its appeal with me for a multitude of reasons... Let's start with the logic of the head waitress who attempted to seat me and my guest at a small table in the middle of a tight corner. Now, please note that my guest and I are both burley men which means that we would have been terribly uncomfortable in such a small confined area. When I told her that we prefered a booth she reacted harshly and was quick to tell us that there weren't any other booths available, but when I told her that there indeed was a booth available, she still persisted with her negative attitude murmuring under her breath as she walked us to the table. As for the food, I sensed that the dreaded logic of "cutting corners" had trickled down into the overall food quality as there was a number of rotten grapes still attached to their vine on my plate as well as an overall smaller portion of potatoes. Oh and when I asked that my three meat choices be all bacon, the waitress only brought me 3 slices of bacon. Wait a minute... Isn't a serving of bacon 2 slices like at most places? All this plus an incredibly uncomfortable and noisy environment equals an overall Bad Breakfast...

We stopped in for brunch at A.M. Déjeuner Dîner in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and had a really great experience. The menu itself is impressive, from big hearty breakfasts and sweet crêpes to smoothies, specialty lattes, and even some lighter, healthier options if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s the kind of place where you can easily find both comfort food and thoughtful choices depending on your mood.

Everything we ordered came out fresh, nicely presented, and really tasty. The spread at our table had a little bit of everything eggs, crispy potatoes, avocado, toast, and more. We also tried the matcha latte, which was smooth, well-balanced, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while.

What made the visit even better was the service. Elizabeth took wonderful care of us. She was attentive without ever being intrusive, checked in often, and made sure we had everything we needed. She also gave us thoughtful recommendations, especially when it came to vegan and healthier options, and was happy to accommodate a few custom requests we had.

Altogether, it was a relaxed and enjoyable brunch with excellent food and service. A place worth coming back to, especially thanks to Elizabeth’s...

Food was excellent, place is very well renovated, very nice place. Service however… we had an older waitress (whom I’m wondering if she was part of the Oeuf Plus staff based on the service we got) seemed as though we were a bother, no smile, very rushed to leave the table, never brought back coffee or water.
