Five and Dime — Restaurant in Saint John

The door man was a terrible host & creepy!! I went out for a group gathering last night and all my girl friends were let in without a problem but my partner was denied. We were told they were at capacity and had to stand outside. Nobody else was outside waiting. We stood outside for about 10 minutes while he let in other people (females) in. My friend had to ask him why we weren't allowed in and when they were talking he touched her face and proceeded to try flirting with her. I work in the bar Industry and I know a male host shouldn’t never touch a female guest!!! It was extremely uncomfortable and gross to know that someone like that works at such a popular spot uptown. We had to asked if we could come in because after seeing two big groups of people leave and he goes “I guess so” he was so rude. We got other other friends and left. There's no food here really but they got 5 just so the score wasn't affected. It's an intimate little basement bar that has a DJ there spinning some old vinyl records while you hang out and have some adult beverages. Really tasty specialty drinks made by the bartender before you head out for a night on the town. Always BUMPIN & PACKED with a line up outside. Good place to go WITH FRIENDS when drinking and want to go out to dance. Always good music, drinks are strong so they are worth the bar prices. Bar Tender was super kind and was able to keep up with the crazy amount of drinks rolling in.

*Would NOT recommend going ALONE as a woman... Male bouncers do nothing to protect and/or to help women when being touched in an inappropriate manner after hearing her saying...
