Visited on July 22, 2023, in the afternoon. One of two home away from home Picaroons establishment, the other being in St. Stephen. Located on the corner of Canterbury and Grannan St in Uptown St. John, it's a medium size bar, with a "S" shape table, several high chairs at the windows, a street patio during the summer and an acces to Pomodori Pizzeria from the inside (no alcohol in that restaurant. Over 20 beers on tap, a good variety of styles. They even have beer for dogs (and for cats) that is non alcoholic. For food, you can get some pizza next door. A lot of merchandise for sale, even for dogs. Several beers to go, including growlers and beers from other breweries. The staff if very good in many ways. As you can guess it's a dog friendly place and sometimes there is even a Maine Coon cat (that I was hoping to see). Nice...

But my only complaint was an 'off leash' dog that sauntered in way ahead of it's owner and let to roam the whole bar, the owner never reeled him in. He went up to other dogs,still off leash ,which fortunately was unconfrontational ,but how could the owner know that. I think it's great you allow dogs but they really need to be on lease. It has a great vibe, super cozy and filled with people meeting friends and clearly having a good time. We didn’t try the pizza this time but it looked delicious!
