Living close by to Tony Ratchfords west side Subway i eat there at least 3 times per week. I've been a fan of Subway since Jack McMaster brought the franchise to Saint John and am a friend of his son Peter who owns 4 Subway stores. Peter speaks very highly of the Tony the west franchise owner as did my older brother who taught him at UNB. Unfortunately last evening the place I was living suffered flood damage causing extensive damage to my belongings. I went to Subway to charge my phone and call Red Cross and 211 about emergency relief options. I had been up all night attempting to keep things from being destroyed by water damage and was hoping to take a minute and focus on mitigating my situation and was on the phone with Red Cross when Gills a Subway employee came an interrupted my phone conversation informing me that if I don't purchase anything I had to leave. It was obvious I was on the phone and informed this non Canadian employee that he was being rude. I say non Canadian not in a racist manner rather thinking its potentially a cultural issue as its definitely not the Canadian and even more so a maritime or Saint John manner of acting. I actually told him it would be ok if he called police and had me removed as I would welcome drawing attention to the way in which he was acting. If I was acting inappropriate or looked unkempt then I could understand but with an empty dining room as well I was appalled by his rudeness. I'm not one of these guys that is going to say ill never eat there again as that would be a lie and I have gotten to know some of the staff and find them excellent. Its only 60 bucks a week I spend there and they would not miss my business but I would miss Subway and staff such as Raymond and Sam whom are both excellent. I will avoid going there during Gills shifts and advise others to beware because he wasn't taught by his parents simple manners. I said to him discretion is the better part of Valor but that went over his head. I'm interested to read the response from the operations manager who Gill tells me administers the rules making sure staff follow them while abandoning discretion or common sense. After the night I had I can't say Fairville Blvd Subway was best represented this am and am left shaking my head thinking what is wrong with...
Read moreToday September 21 /24 I entered and ordered a 12 inch ham sub with cucumber, tomatoe , lettuce and extra pickle . She placed 6 pickles on my sub and I asked if I could have extra for the pickles . She told me she can’t do extra as they follow a formula. I said that’s okay just charge me for the extra pickles . She then informed me she also can’t do that as again they have a formula and don’t charge for extra. I said okay , can you charge for a 6 inch sub but keep your sub and just give me the extra pickle ?
She then tells me well that only gets you 3 extra pickles . So I said you’re charging me 8 extra dollars for 3 pickles ? She said yup that’s our formula ! I then told them to keep their sub . Ridiculous that each sub is only allowed 3 pickles and no option if you want 6 pickles . The lady ( 35- 40) thought it was quite funny with her smirky attitude . There were 4 other people in there and they could not believe you aren’t allowed to ask for extra anything even if you want to pay for it . Never in my life have I ever had customer service like this one . She had an attitude from the start and shouldn’t be working with people . And subway SHAME on you to not allow your subs more then 3 picked per sub . My family will never purchase again and we will take our...
Read moreI will never go back to this location ever again after the lack of customer service I received. Placed an online order, the payment was taken from my bank account, but almost immediately after the app cancelled my order for no reason. Went in, waited and waited and waited for someone to acknowledge that we were standing there. One person out front making sandwiches (no one else in the restaurant, so either online or drive thru order. Taking their time, no problem. ), another at a back table who looked like they were sleeping (fair enough if they were on break), and another out in the back doing something. The worker in front went out to the back twice for a moment, the second time he said something to the person out back who brought something out front and went back..... No one said a word to us. My husband spoke up and the guy out front basically shrugged his shoulders and told us to come back in the morning to talk to manager. Left without food. Not the first time we've had issues here, and it will be the last because this...
