Bistro Lounge Garçons! — Restaurant in Sainte-Adèle

The four of us walked in Friday night with a reservation for my birthday as we do every year. Waiting staff was welcoming, all smiles and overall excellent start.

Starters took 1h45min. Rockefeller Oysters were cold, soup of the day lukewarm. The Foie gras poêlé was very good, nonetheless lukewarm.

It was very disappointing and after 2h my patience had run out. I decided to ask for our bill. Every inch of me wanted to get out of that place and I was too hungry to wait any longer.

It is only then, after a 2 hour wait that the restaurant owner who was present came to our table and suggested to offer us the meal as our main courses were ready to be served.

He insisted and tried to convince us to stay, but I refused and he rushed back to the kitchen quite frustrated. Apparently he didn’t appreciate my refusal for he came back rushing us to never ever come back in his establishment.

That was all very awkward and even though I reminded him that he was very unprofessional, he pursued his yelling at us never to come back.

I rushed out while my boyfriend was trying to tip our waitress, while my half-sister started crying because he was yelling, and while my birthday dinner party was turning into something I wished never happened: a very realistic nightmare.

Lesson learned. Rhythm is always important in life: when cooking food, when managing our expectations and when picking the right time to leave. Its a window of opportunity which grants you to forget and start over, its the timely manner to exit a very disappointing restaurant on your...

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. My martini was very well made, as good as I have had anywhere. The quality of the food was superior and very nicely presented although I found the main courses to be quite small for the price, sort of like appetizers, leaving us both on our appetites. I also found the ice cream dessert covered with a super sweet coulis that I was not expecting and frankly, a bit overpriced at $12.00. The service was a bit slow but the staff was attentive to our needs. The decor is tasteful but a bit bland. Overall, it does many things quite well but it has to up its game if it wants to get another...

This was my second time eating here and it was just as special as the first. My family and I enjoyed an intimate dinner on the patio under the canopy. Joanie was our server and she was so welcoming and attentive, my kids and my parents loved her. They even gave my son a child sized portion of the fish! The lobster risotto was incredible and the chef told us how he made the lobster bisque to flavour it. The quality of the food, and the ingredients are delicious.
