Rude server, disorganized. The chef here makes some good food. All of our sauces (except the steak sauce) were delicious. The meat was cooked well. My partner ordered his steak Medium but it came Med Rare. However, it was so good he ate it anyways quite happily. Unfortunately, the server didn't apologize, and didn't tell the kitchen. There aren't many choices for wine by the glass, which was a shame. We came in and stood around for over 5 minutes waiting for someone to take us to our table, we were given the wrong menus. After the server was told our steak wasn't cooked properly, a new server took over our table. Thankfully the new server was nice. Unprofessional though. He ketp asking questions mid mouthful, and he walks around asking people who they are and scratching their names off a list. lol He even interrupts other servers taking orders to tell them their next table has arrived! But, he was rather cute about it, and very friendly and personable. I preferred his strange antics to the other server who was professional, but rude and dismissive. The "bread" was old stale toast, served with those little butter cups you get at diners, which had been in the fridge so they were rock hard. It's a shame these oversights took away from a kitchen that is obviously working hard to put out good food. There's a talented chef in there, who clearly loves preparing good food. A proper bread basket and some homemade compound butter would be a simple/cheap way to elevate the dining experience. More polite, organized service would elevate the front of house experience and match it to the food coming out of...
Read moreWe arrived for our reservation at Chez Milot and unfortunately had one of the worst service experiences I can remember. When we walked in, no one greeted us, staff kept moving around to other tables, but no one even looked our way or said someone would be with us. It felt like we didn’t exist. I even started walking upstairs thinking maybe that’s where you wait, and only then did someone finally ask if we’d been helped.
They eventually took our name, asked if we wanted inside or outside, and sat us with menus. We ordered a drink, which came after a little while, but then things completely fell apart. For 45+ minutes, not a single staff member came by to check on us, ask if our drinks were okay, or take a food order. We finally decided to chase down a waiter just to ask for the bill because we were leaving. That took another 15+ minutes.
When my husband went to settle up, the server actually seemed annoyed and said, “Oh, you’re leaving without ordering food?” Honestly, how could anyone want to stay and order dinner after being ignored that long?
I can’t review the food because we never got that far, but the service was terrible. We left feeling completely unwanted, like they were too busy to care. There are many much better restaurants in Saint-Adèle that value their customers, sadly, this is not...
Read moreSo it's our 1st visit here. 40+ year reputation to uphold. Started off with mega-martinis but quickly ordered our food as we were limited to a 2 hr window for our reservation. The waiter was disenchanted and took an hour to deliver a caesar salad and tempura shrimp. We asked at the hour mark "was there a problem?" and he gruffly stated we told him to wait until we finished our drinks. We did not. On the complaint the food arrived promptly and we then had to rush through our meal to make room for the next service. In 45 minutes we attempted to get his attention and he never once came to inquire about anything with us. Pity as what arrived was superb and perfectly cooked. My mussels were tender and my partner's filet mignon cooked to absolute perfection. The service left us...
