Café Morin — Restaurant in Sainte-Adèle

I visited this lovely cafe for a dinner & show event and to say I was blown away is an understatement. The atmosphere was full of excitement & joy, the cafe’s decor, from the guitar hanging on the wall to the lights on the stage, made me feel like I was in someone’s backyard just vibing with old friends, not seated in a public venue with strangers. The staff were nothing short of polite & attentive and so very, very patient with my lack of French skills. And the food, oh wow, the food was spectacular! Never having been a fan of tofu, I would eat the tofu made that night EVERY SINGLE DAY. Literally everything about the experience and the cafe is what dining out should be like all the time. Tristement déçue alors que je m'attendais à beaucoup. On nous reçoit et on veut nous asseoir complètement derrière au fond alors que lorsque j'ai réservé en ligne, il restait 14 places de libre. Il y avait pourtant des tables devant de disponibles et on a dû insister pour en avoir une. Nous sommes arrivés à 19h30 et le service commençait à 19h15 alors on était pas en retard du tout!

On s'assoit à peine et on ne prend même pas le temps de nous demander si on veut commander un drink et on insiste pour passer la commande en disant qu'ils sont débordés à la cuisine et qu'il faut choisir ses plats tout de suite. Pas de problème on a déjà fait nos choix la veille avec leur menu proposé en ligne. Mais on nous annonce que le menu a complètement changé et qu'il faut se fier à ce qui est écrit au tableau noir. Pas inspiré du tout par ce nouveau choix, on se décide à l'aveuglette sans trop savoir. Je suis hésitante à choisir une salade comme repas principal et prend la peine avant de demander si la salade est assez généreuse pour ne pas crever de fin le reste de la soirée. On me répond que c'est une assez bonne portion.

La nourriture était délicieuse et fraîche mais ma salade minuscule comparé aux autres plats au menu. Lorsque la propriétaire vient me demander si tout est à notre goût, je lui fait part de mes commentaires et elle me resserre une autre salade que j'ai bien apprécié de sa part. De plus c'était un trois services sans dessert mais avec thé, café inclus...?!? et on est jamais venu nous demander si on voulait un thé/café. Lorsque on passe à la caisse pour payer nos consommations à la fin, on apprend qu'il y a un surplus à payer sur le repas alors que tout était déjà payé d'avance. Lorsqu'on presse sa clientèle à choisir un nouveau menu, faudrait au moins prendre le temps de l'informer des surplus à payer sur certains plats car sinon on n'a pas le temps de voir ça sur un tableau noir pas bien éclairé en plus.

Les musiciens étaient excellents mais un amplificateur avait un problème et une guitare nous a grinché dans les oreilles toute la soirée.

We love the ambiance of this bar and the fact that it's gay friendly is such a blessing in the north, having said all that the owner needs to up her communication game a bit and let people directly know that she's unable to hold certain promises and reservations. We were planning to spend our birthday in their terrace for a Saturday night, we made sure to ask her for a ta le outside and we're confirmed two times by the owner. When the time came, we were disappointed to find out that there are no staff to service us or the willingness to just accommodate us for the sake of promise made. I'd be reluctant to go back there again, or recommend it...
