Restaurant John Le Grec - Pizza Delivery — Restaurant in Sainte-Adèle

Location: In Ste. Adèle village. While it doesn't look like it, you CAN park in front of the restaurant (no meters, either) or in the public lot that is just past the restaurant. There is no fee to park there.

The place: The restaurant is a fairly good size with plenty of seating indoors and limited seating outdoors. The caveat here, is that if you sit outside, it can be VERY noisy, as the terrace is just off the main road. Locals do love this place so it can be busy on weekends.

The goods: Since they had a table d'hote menu, I opted for that. I had the butterfly shrimp with rice, vegetables and Greek potatoes. I don't have anything negative to say about this other than I would have liked more veggies. The shrimp were delicious and there were way more then I expected! My mum ordered the same thing and we were both very happy with our dishes. The portions are very good for the price. My dad ordered the filet mignon, which I know, you might hesitate to order in this type of restaurant. That being said, he thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't think you can go wrong with anything that you order here - the food is solid, the portions are good and you leave with a full belly.

Service: Good.

Price point: You get good value for the money. I picked up the bill but don't remember exactly how much it came out to.... I think with tip, it was about $90.

I have been to this restaurant many times in the past years, it use to be a gem. Today my friend and I both ordered Pizza-ghetti (smaller size pizza with spaghetti) - I ordered the pizza all dressed which is the default for this combo and a canned drink $19 total tax in. My friend ordered a 3 topping request (pepperoni, bacon & black olives) as well as a canned drink. The charged him $10 more so the bill was $29.00. In my opinion they should have just charged in a few bucks more for the bacon and the olives should have been an equivalent replacement for the green peppers & mushrooms on an all dressed pizza. The waitress did not advise him of the extra charges. $10 more is a definite cash grab. On another note the pizza used to be a 10 on 10 now i give it a 3 on 10. The quality is nowhere near the same. Before writing this review, I read a previous review saying how this restaurant is terrible since the new ownership. Our waitress never came by to see if everything is ok and on 2 occasions we had to yell across the restaurant (we where the only ones there) to get service...

If I could give 0 stars I would. We waited 45 minutes for a takeout order and when we got home the chicken was overcooked, the rice wasn't even cooked, there was no tatziki in my pita??? Where did it go? Thank you for a salad that's dryer than the Sahara desert 🏜!!! Where is the dressing?? Don't even get me started on the potatoes... The woman who worked the counter literally ignored us, didn't even say hello just answered the phone and went into the back. I've never experience service like this in my life. Cherry on top? The server said the reason it was taking so long is because the chicken takes 20-25 minutes to cook...and you over cooked it 👌 There were only 4 people actually seated in the restaurant and none of them had food. Save your money because these guys make McDonald's service...
