Le Montagnais Restaurant — Restaurant in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré

My family and I were visiting the area and based on reviews decided to try this restaurant for late lunch on Saturday Sept.6th. In the beginning I was a little frustrated as no one approached me to sit us at a table...it took several minutes before someone finally asked me for how many people, and I told her a group of 5 people. She pointed to the corner table right where you enter the restaurant. I went back outside and told my family that I finally got a table. (They waited in the vehicle because it was pouring rain outside.) When we were all seated at the table, our server came and took our orders. We were glad that she spoke English, as she could tell by our broken French that we would be better suited to order in English. Our server, Laura C., was very friendly, polite and kind. She got our orders in and we were served our orders quite quickly. Our food was hot and delicious. The desserts were very good as well. If we are ever visiting in the area again, we will stop here again for a meal. Hopefully we will have Laura C. serve us again, as she turned things around for us from first maybe not staying there (since it was taking a very long time to acknowledge me standing there waiting to be seated-even though several servers saw me and just kept walking by me) to finally being seated and enjoying our meal and the excellent service that Laura C....

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast on our honeymoon eight years ago and were blown away by the great food, great service and cheap prices. So, when we went back to Quebec eight years later we made sure to stop again, this time for lunch. The place was being renovated when we went, almost done at the time (surely completed now) and it looked so much better, bigger and brighter. We loved the changes, even if it meant having to come in through a back door during the renovations. My kids ordered chicken and fries. They were quite tasty, as I tried to bite of chicken and stole some fries. My wife got a salad and sandwich, loving both again. I ordered lasagna, which was very large and filling and came with garlic bread. I almost finished the lasagna and just took a bite of the garlic bread since it was so much food. Our waitress was very attentive, had no problem that we didn't speak French and spoke fine English. She made sure to keep our drinks refilled and brought the kids food as soon as it was ready as requested. We hope to go back to Quebec in a couple years and will be sure to...

I’ll never come back to this racist restaurant again! We ordered a pizza. Didn’t realize that it had pork. Obviously we don’t speak French and the menu was in French. We asked the waiter and she was extremely polite. When we told her that we could not have the pork pizza she took it right away and replaced it. Upon seeing her upper managers treating her badly - I offered to pay for the pizza. We finished our dinner and asked for the bill. The waiter ashamedly asked us that the manager wants us to pay for half the pizza. I couldn’t believe it but didn’t want to make a fuss and paid it anyway. How horrible was that. The food wasn’t that great and I’ll probably never come back to this restaurant again. If you’re Muslim and not white or cannot speak French please use this...
