Halibut House Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Sarnia

I wish If I could give them less than 1 star, it's simply a rip-off place, you pay a lot of money for very bad quality food. Food is all either frozen or canned . I ordered seafood soup but honestly it has nothing related to seafood, it looks like it is canned and not fresh , also the veggies were over cooked and soaked of water . The halbuit fish is so small and less than the exact weight. The slamon was raw and not cooked and smells yukky. Also, Lemon juice is not fresh and full of sugar. Simply food doesn't worth a penny, we paid $100 for a food that worth $20 or maybe less . Simply it's a very bad place and I don't recommend anyone to eat at this cheap quality resturant .

Your answer show exactly what type of person or owner you are . Yes I make 15k and I have no problem to pay $200 for a food , I am a loyal customer to big fish and Wagga resturnats and other well know resturants. which means I am someone who pays for a good quality food. I didn't eat the food and sorry for saying I couldn't even eat it as it was raw and not cooked and smells yukky , I packed the food to give it to the birds. And again yes your soup is canned , and the salad the same of the ready one from superstore. Your fish is frozen and I don't even know if this was halibut fish as I can't tell from of how it looks . I don't mind paying money for a good quality food , but paying 70 or even 50 for yukky food like yours sure this is not acceptable. You should only server fish and ships no more or stop lying to people and serve frozen food as...

Tried this place for the first time tonight ( also the last time). Sat down and was asked if we wanted drinks which we ordered and thought things were going well....... then came the food ordering. I ordered the fish and chip special which was mediocre at best ( more batter than fish and frozen fries) and asked for a cesar salad to start, wife ordered a cheeseburger and fries, pretty simple right?!?!WRONG..... my fish and chips comes out no problem. Wife's burger comes out with just relish ( she asked for everything but tomato and relish). We send it back and wait a bit..... outcome her meal again...... hamburger no cheese but toppings are correct, at this point she decides nevermind I'll just eating anyway. At the end they bring the bill it has a cheeseburger listed(which I was not going to argue about and just pay) but my salad that seem to get lost in purgatory was there as well. Needless to say I had him correct it and paid.

If you like watching absolute s%&t shows and disorganization this is the place for you!!!!!

As an added bonus you can always take bets on if you get what you ordered.

Stay away from this...

Was excited to try Halibut House, and finally got the opportunity to try it tonight. Ordered take out, and called the restaurant almost 2 hours prior to the requested time, in case they were busy. I ordered cod & chips, clam strips and battered shrimp. The only things that I was able to eat were the coleslaw, the clam strips and the fish, minus most of the batter. Firstly, the clam strips and the shrimp did not come with seafood sauce. The shrimp were not cooked long enough and the batter was gooey on the inside. The chips were also extremely undercooked, and were rubbery. The batter on the fish had spots that were also gooey inside. The prices weren't cheap, so I paid $40 for food that was arena canteen quality at best. Had they paid more attention to detail and made sure to cook the food just a little longer, my review probably would have been much more positive. Will be reaching out to the restaurant for a resolution.

Update Called the restaurant. Was given an apology, and asked to "give them another chance". End of story. No resolution offered. Thanks...
