I had the WORST experience tonight at Harvey's on London rd sarnia. I ran in quickly to get dinner. There was only one person in line in front of me ordering. I ordered my meal of 4 original hamburgers that they had a special on, then added 2 large fries. The male employee said the order back to me and I confirmed that that was correct. I paid by debit and continued to wait for my meal. The staff in the kitchen were clearly distracted, laughing, giggling and having personal conversations like it was a big party. As I'm slowly getting more irritated the female employee waiting for my burgers apologized and said that they just had a bunch of orders for the same burger I had ordered and were making more. Clearly that wasn't the case as I stood there at least 5 minutes before he added more burgers to the grill. The line by this time is getting larger behind me and everyone else didn't look happy it was taking so long. The lady made my meal and I watched as she only put 1 order of fries in the bag. I told her I had ordered 2 large fries, not one. she looked at my reciept and said there's only one on the order. to which I wouldn't have noticed because the reciept was on the counter with her as she waited for my meal . She told the male employee who took my order and seemed mad that I was basically saying he made the mistake. He basically told me he didn't hear me say 2 orders, but I made sure I told him that yes he in fact did hear me because he repeated the order back to me. Instead of giving me the fries for free, he made sure I knew that apparently HE was doing me a favor by giving me a 30% discount on the extra fries he was giving me , and had me pay $3 for them. Thank God I had change on me because I normally don't. It wasn't bad enough that it took more than 20 minutes for my meal, they made me feel like I was in the wrong. Ad I left the drive thru line was super long and you could see on every person's face that they clearly felt the same frustration I did. I definitely won't be back. Last time we were there the booths were disgusting and ketchup on them and the floors were sticky and it wasn't even busy. I have only tried to eat there maybe 3 times and never had a good experience. They definitely need to do some major changes in...
Read moreWhen I first pulled up, there were two cooks outside having a smoke. When I walked in to place my order, they were both already near the grill. One was cooking. No way would either cook would have had time to wash their hands on returning to work. I could not see if they were wearing gloves or not but it is unlikely they were, as they would melt over the grill. So clearly the guy cooking didn't wash his hands on returning to work. Before I knew it, both burgers were ready. I asked the girl behind the counter how long that burgers had been sitting there. She said they had just been cooked. The cheese did not look melted. I again asked her if my burgers were cold. She assured me that they were not. As I filled my drink, she bagged my order and I left. I felt the burgers and they seemed warm. When I got home burgers were cold and the cheese was not melted. The heat I felt was probably from the poutine. The top of both burgers were not burnt. The other side was burnt to a crisp. I ended up throwing the burgers out and I didn't have time to go back. Over a thirty dollar order and I got two poutine and 2 pops. Burgers were not edible. My fault for not pulling the burger's apart and ensuring my order was to my satisfaction, I guess. Definitely will not...
Read moreAs a visitor from the United States, I found Harvey's in Sarnia to be a refreshing change from the usual American fast-food chains. Known for its custom-ordered burgers, deep-fried pickles, unique "Frings," and delectable poutine, this fast-food joint offers something different than the typical McDonalds/Burger King experience in the good ole US of A.
We visited in early July and were impressed with the wide variety of items on the menu. In particular, our group really loved being able to order various types of poutines as this is something we cannot easily get in America. Additionally, our group was impressed with the Fried Pickles and the Frings! In terms of enjoying the burgers, I would say that everyone enjoyed them, but that they were not the best they have ever had. People in our group did note that they enjoyed being able to customize their burgers with various toppings/sauces.
Everyone we interacted with in the restaurant was friendly/helpful and added to the overall atmosphere during our visit.
I would definitely recommend visiting if you...
