The setting is nice. The chairs are comfortable. Most of the the staff was very nice. I've always loved taking the grandchildren to the movies. Tonight I was hurt and disappointed. Families of the lower income bracket can find it hard to have these experiences with a large family. I took my family tonight because Tuesdays are sale nights. It cost 70. One combo almost 25 dollars and said they had nothing but a small bag of scor bar that the kids don't eat. When we asked for something else the kids might like we were told that's all they had. There was licorice, ect. I also ordered three regular popcorns over 25 . Had to cancel one. The other week the topping machine for the popcorn wasn't working right. They be had problems for awhile. Before it changed around they'd ask, do you want topping or butter? Now it's a machine and you help yourself but was out of order. For butter they wanted almost ten dollars. I just wanted the regular topping. I was told no that's just a complimentary thing for the customer but it's not working so I can pay for the butter. I asked the manager Matt who got rude with me. Told me he d give me the money back for popcorn I said I just wanted topping. That no one wants dry popcorn. He accused me of yelling at staff. I asked him have you ever heard me yell?? He said no.Offered my money back this time for the movie and I could leave if I didn't Iike it. I'm looking at the children. I couldn't let the kids down or I would of left. My cousin told me later, all she could hear was him raising his voice she never heard me. The manager should have everything working or make sure one of the other machines behind the counter had that option. My family was upset and guess what, no one ate the dry popcorn. The kids didn't like it. So a waste of money. I usually enjoy my visits but tonight made me feel like not going back till the manager changes his attitude, does his job making sure the machines work and the...
Read moreCineplex Entertainment in Sarnia is truly the go-to spot for movie lovers in the city, conveniently situated beside Lambton Mall. This multi-screen theater boasts a fantastic ambiance and is consistently well-maintained, creating a pleasant environment from the moment you step inside. The staff I've encountered have all been friendly and helpful, adding to the positive experience.
What sets this Cineplex apart are the thoughtful additions in the lobby. The inclusion of a snack area and a small play space for kids is a great way to spend a little time before your movie begins, especially for families.
One aspect that truly impressed me was the cleanliness of the washrooms. It's evident that they prioritize regular cleaning, which is a welcome change from many other theaters. When it comes to the movie-watching experience itself, the sound quality is top-notch, immersing you fully in the film. The theater design also contributes to a great viewing experience. Plus, the abundance of parking spaces is a significant positive.
However, the comfort of the seating is a more significant issue than a minor drawback. When people come to the cinema, they expect to be comfortable for the duration of the movie. Uncomfortable seating can detract significantly from the overall enjoyment and impact the entire experience negatively. If this issue persists, it could become a more prominent concern for patrons and potentially affect the credibility of Galaxy Cineplex as the premier movie destination in Sarnia.
Despite the other positive aspects, addressing the seating comfort should be a priority to ensure a truly enjoyable and immersive experience for all moviegoers. While Cineplex is currently the only option in Sarnia, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience is vital for maintaining its reputation and satisfying...
Read moreWhile movies have gone up in price the experience at the Sarnia Cinema hasnt increased in similar value. The seats are pretty terrible compared to modern theatres with recliners and booths. The current seats in the AVX are nicer but they are far to low to the ground for people who are taller than 5'8 and put knees and legs in awkward positions. If you are going to charge 20 dollars for a premium experience you should deliver one. Aside from the uncomfortable seating, fellow movie goers are mostly intolerable. Talking or whispering constantly even with the public service announcement before the movie asking people to be respectful and not talk or pull out their phones. Theatres are dying for this reason alone. We used to go movies once or twice a month and now its twice a year. We can wait for streaming, I cant imagine how a family of four can afford to go more than a couple times a year. When the US wasnt a disaster we used to cross and go to Sperry's movie house instead. It was a far better experience and cost less on average including the toll. Sarnia needs...
