I recently had the pleasure of dining at Star of Ishtar Restaurant in Sutherland for the second time, and it has quickly become one of the nicest restaurants in Saskatoon. This time, I opted for the Ishtar Beef Wrap, served with French fries and a fresh salad, and it was absolutely delicious. The beef was tender, well-seasoned, and the fries were crisp and flavorful. My friend chose the Mushroom Swiss Burger, and we were both pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes. In fact, the servings were so large that we had leftovers to take home, which is always a nice treat.

Geanna, who served us, was a true delight. Her warm, friendly demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. She thoughtfully offered us complimentary fries and hummus, explaining they were testing a new recipe, and it was a fantastic addition to our meal. The hummus was especially flavorful and fresh.

One of the standout features of Star of Ishtar is its atmosphere. The restaurant is immaculate and well-maintained, with a relaxed, quiet ambiance complemented by soft background music. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a meal in peace while still soaking in the friendly energy of the place. During my first visit, I tried the Chicken Wrap, which was just as impressive as this time’s beef wrap.

Star of Ishtar offers a delightful fusion of Iraqi and Turkish cuisine, and every dish I sampled was bursting with flavour. The menu offers a fantastic range of options, all seemingly well-proportioned for the price. I opted for the Ishtar Platter for Two, and let me tell you, it was an absolute feast! For just $47 (before tax), the amount of food we received was incredibly generous. It was a fantastic way to sample a variety of their offerings and perfect for sharing. What's even better is that most of their main dishes come with a complimentary bowl of lentil soup and fresh bread. The lentil soup itself was a highlight – so comforting and flavourful, the perfect way to start the meal.

Beyond the incredible food, the interior of Star of Ishtar is also lovely. It creates a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for your dining experience.

On the recommendation of a friend who had previously eaten here, I dined at this delightful, beautifully decorated, pristine, restaurant whose owner greeted us, served us, and made our experience a memorable one! Thank you. Your restaurant serves delicious food that savours the palate with the likes of hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, and kebabs as well as many typical Canadian dishes. I enjoyed every thing I ate and would recommend this place to people who are open to trying the food of other cultures. I can hardly wait to return to the Ladies Night at the end of the month.
