CHINA8 — Restaurant in Saugeen Shores

We were at the provincial park near by camping but without lunch options. Decided to quickly pick up some Chinese food from here. The young gentleman at the counter was quite accommodating and understood our restrictions (dairy, eggs, meat or fish). Extra star just for that accommodation.

Vegetable Lo Mein made with rice noodles to make it vegan. A Lo Mein was made with regular egg noodles. Both dishes were enjoyed. The Rice Noodles replacement was good and tasted really nice. Could have needed more spice. But adding the hot sauce made it better.

The Vegetarian Fried Rice made without eggs to make it vegan. Again nicely made.

Bean Curd Szechuan (no pictures) - made sure there is fish sauce or egg - so glad it was vegan. Not spicy at all, in fact a tad bit on the sweet side.

We won't be trying that again. First I called to make an order and then after I said "That is everything" there was a weird loud tone and then the phone went dead. I tried calling back repeatedly over the next hour because I didn't even know if they actually placed the order it ended so abruptly and it went straight to voicemail. I showed up to get my food anyways and luckily it was almost ready. The man confirmed everything on my order and I paid and waited for the rest. They called my number and another man confirmed my order again. I got home and 20 dollars of items were missing, I got 1 spring roll instead of 3, no vegetables, wrong noodles and some of the weirdest sauced chicken I have ever seen. I called back because I wanted to know what happened if they gave me the wrong order and once again...

Updated April 30/2022 Just wanted to update since Ive ordered a lot more over the past couple months. My 5/5 score still stands! The food is always consistently fresh and tastes wonderful. Thanks China8!

Great quality Chinese food! With only 1 Chinese restaurant in Port elgin it's nice to have another option. I ordered orange chicken, beef with broccoli, veg Lo mein, and spring rolls - plus they gave me a free item for paying cash over $35!!! Nice deal. Everything had a lot of flavor and tasted fresh. Their chicken isn't overly battered and the orange sauce tasted amazing. It was opening day when I ordered so it took some time to pickup my meal, ~20 min, but the staff were very nice. I will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu, Im very interested in trying their Thai curry...
