Better than we could have ever imagined.
We recently had the Queens Bar and Grill cater our wedding and I could not say more positive things about the experience. Right from the start meeting with Pier to set everything up it was a warm inviting experience that took the stress out of the wedding planning. He took our idea and ran with it providing amazing insights and ideas to make our wedding the best we could have imagined. Every step of the way triple checking that we were okay with the decisions we had come to and providing additional suggestions for each meeting to ensure we had the best options chosen and that we were set up for success for the big day. Myself not being someone who enjoys wine had been blown away by the wine offerings he had suggested, both the red and white were boasting with flavour and very light to drink.
The Queens staff were incredible, they had everything set up and ready to go. We had offered appetizers (bacon wrapped shrimp and fantastically tender beef skewers) for the cocktail hour and specific drink selections (margaritas and sangria) prior to dinner. The appetizers completely gone, eaten up quickly and the drinks were fantastic, many times we had heard throughout the night how amazing the margaritas were.
Dinner time was where everyone truly shone through. We had a buffet style set up with many options for the wedding guests and Chef Adele did an unbelievable job with the food. Getting that much food perfect for every guest shows how incredible her talent is. I had never expected to hear so many people say that they would "dream about those mashed potatoes" and the compliments about the brisket and the glaze were endless.
The Queens staff made sure that the food was readily available for everyone as the line progressed, always smiling and inviting. It really made the wedding day stress free and the best day we could have asked for. After dinner all of our guests were raving saying it was the best food they have ever had which truly made us feel blessed for having had the Queens cater the wedding. It was better than either of us had imagined possible.
The desserts were served in individual containers, we had chosen peach cobbler and no bake cherry cheesecake. Both are drool worthy. We had many guests who saved theirs to go and were quite excited to have them for the ride home later in the evening.
The clean-up was seamless after dinner with us hardly noticing the staff clearing all the dishes and glasses on the tables which to me shows their professional ability and attentiveness to the environment.
Our wedding cake was also created by Chef Adele who tailored the cake to our exact asking and it turned out beautiful and absolutely delicious. She provided a couple options to try based off of our initial request and allowed us to combine what we liked about each to make the perfect cake to sum up the perfect day that the Queens and their staff had provided.
A big thank you to Pier, Adele and all of the staff from the Queens. You all made our wedding day better than we had imagined and we are truly thankful for everything through...

First off, I barely even write bad reviews. This place was terrible. I had such high hopes walking into the place. The atmosphère was okay and it was my first time eating at a place in this town. My friends that were with me drove 6 HOURS from Kingston Ontario and were served the nastiest food I have ever seen at a restaurant. The service was also not the best. It was super slow and we waited a long time in between each course. The waitress was really nice but the service sucked. It was probably the kitchens fault to be honest.
To start, the drinks my friends ordered— the frozen pineapple margaritas were dripped down in salt and there was a pile of salt on the bottom of the drink. I had a sip and it made me gag. We sent those back asap. Next the appetizers that took forever to come, were all not great. My buffalo cauliflower bites were so drenched in sauce that they had no crisp and the smell was super strong of just hot sauce. The spinach dip was dried out and not creamy. Finally the mozzarella sticks were cold in the middle.
Then came our entrees and they were all SO bad. My friend ordered Shepherds Pie (hamburger soup with one scoop of potato). It was literally an icecream scoop of potato and the rest was hamburger meat with frozen vegetables with green beans. It was an obvious can of frozen vegetables— yuck! Also there was no cheese and it was not compacted like how Shepherds Pie should be. It was disgusting to look at honestly. When they came to check our table, noticed my friend was clearly upset, she asked where the potato was on the Shepherds Pie… thats when they decided to tell us they ran out of potato. Why wouldnt someone have said something earlier when she ordered the food? It took them 45 minutes to bring it anyways.
The rest of our entrees were entirely covered in grease and nasty to be honest. It just wasn’t appetizing to any of us.
And if that wasnt enough, we ordered dessert at the beginning of our meal which they brought at the end. We ordered banana bread with icecream and chocolate drizzle. It was so soaked, soggy, and MUSHY. My friends took one bite and put their spoons down and we left.
Note: my 2 friends ended up sick in the middle of the night and got food poisoning.
All in all, I would never ever go back here again. This place needs Gordon Ramsey to come and fix this place up ASAP. Im writing this review to prevent anyone from having a bad experience...
Read moreWith reservations for a birthday dinner with 9 friends we had set out for a fun evening.at Queens pub & Grill. We started out with drinks, 2 beers, 1vodka &tonic , 1 gin & tonic, &5 cesars . We should have known we were in trouble when 6 cesars showed up. The next part of the order went even worse. I ordered the prime rib meal and upon return of the waitress I was informed they were out of prime rib. Not what you expect @6 pm. I then said I would have the veal. She came back a 2nd time to inform me they were out of veal. I then ordered the striploin steak. None of us were ever asked if we wanted mashed or baked potatoes, our meals just arrived with French fries.Everyone had a salad with their meal and had no choice of dressings. We all ordered 2nd drinks while waiting for our dinners. 3of the girls who had ordered veal with buttered noodles had their dishes delivered with fries instead of noodles. Oh, I forgot to mention the 1order for appetizers was mussels. They were filled with gritty sand and were inevitable. When they brought back the veal and buttered noodles we were informed that the veal was freshly cooked for the 2nd go round. This peaked me attention as I had been told they were out. I was told they always keep some aside for emergencies. When the manager came to apologize and explain, I asked why I was told there was no more veal and how were these 3meals returned with fresh veal. He stated the original veal was kept under a blue light to stay warm. Who do we believe. My steak was so grissely I couldn’t chew it. We had to ask to have the dirty dishes removed. Manager came.back and said he was going to give us free desserts. They brought 3 desserts for 9 people and many spoons.. certainly not ideal during time of COVID. The final straw was the waitress coming in with our bills and stating the 2nd drinks ordered were removed from our bills, later to find out if you were there as a couple, only 1drink was compt. We waited another 40 minutes to receive the bills and couldn’t get out fast enough. A major disappointment for all of us and not only would we not go back for dinner but intend to let all our friends know about the shawdy service and poor food. Very...
