The Bridgenorth Deli — Restaurant in Selwyn

This was my second time here. The first time - two years ago, I was not happy with the taste of the turkey in my sandwich. Not being a real meat lover, I thought I'd try again with an egg salad sandwich. I asked if I could just get half a sandwich, as I knew it would be too big for this senior citizen to eat a full one. The girl said yes and as I was going to pay for it she said her boss said it would be $7.99 - the same price as a full sandwich! So I said if I have to pay for a full sandwich, please make the other half. (In hindsight, I should have walked out.) When she gave me the full sandwich, she said her boss said next time I came in I could get half a sandwich for half the price. I'm not sure what the difference between today and another day would be. It made no sense, and I won't be back. The egg salad was only okay. There was enough in half the sandwich I didn't eat to make two regular sandwiches. They should have half sandwich options as not everyone eats...

Update: the deli catered our bonspeil last night, food for 74 people for two seatings. I was given great instructions on optimal temperatures to keep the food warm and not overcooked (seatings were 2 hours apart). Everyone raved over how good it was. Prime rib, roasted potatoes, beans and carrots, gravy and horseradish. Everything was ready on time for pick up, and quantities were plentiful. Thank you!

I pop in here now and again for my fix on Dutch stuff. We don’t eat meat but the deli is always busy with lots of selections, and the dry goods shelves are well stocked. ...

My partner and I were fortunate enough to try Bridgenorth Deli today. We received a bacon, schnitzel, and tomato sandwich, and BLT as well as a spectacular poutine. We were blown away by the quality and quantity (usually exclusive of one another). We also purchased a steak and kidney pie and fritter which will be dealt with tomorrow.
