Allô mon Coco Sherbrooke — Restaurant in Sherbrooke

I’ve been to other branches of Allo Mon Coco in Montreal and love the food, so was really pleased to see one opening in Sherbrooke. I went with a friend on Saturday, it wasn’t very busy so we expected a good experience. One plate was brought to our table with no word about the other so we presumed it would be brought straight away. My friend waited as we were sharing our meals. We waited about 15 minutes, with no staff coming by, not even for us to ask what was happening. After 15 minutes someone came to explain there was some sort of delay. 5 minutes later the food was brought, luke-warm, with items missing and absolutely no word of apology or acknowledgement of the wait. Eventually was able to ask a member of staff for the missing food and it was brought out. Had to fight to get the attention of staff for coffee refill, despite there being many staff working and it not being busy at all. One of our servers seemed apologetic and in the end she did offer us 50% off our bill (first printing a full bill by mistake so we had to ask again) which we were grateful for, but there’s no way we would have paid the 20$ a plate it usually cost. The food is tasty, although the poached eggs were over cooked. All in all, a disappointing experience and we won’t be going back unfortunately. It’s a real shame because the food is usually great and there’s so much choice on the menu. I would say it’s overpriced for what it is though. But the service was terrible (with the exception of one woman) and to wait that long without so much of a word of explanation is...

La nourriture est bonne. Par contre j'ai eu une expérience de service-client assez décevant ce matin.

J'ai commandé une casserole végé en demandant l'oeuf à part, car je ne mange pas d'oeuf, premièrement je les digère vraiment mal et deuxièmement, c'est l'aliment qui m'écoeure le plus (vomissement assuré, lol!). J'ai pris l'oeuf à part pour le donner à mon ami qui déjeunait avec moi à ce moment. Le serveur (très gentil, je n'ai rien à dire contre lui), a bel et bien noté ma demande et était tout à fait compréhensif avec celle-ci. Lorsque mon assiette arrive, l'oeuf brouillé se trouve sur mes aliments, dans ma casserole. Je fais donc part de l'erreur à la personne qui m'a amené mon assiette. Elle me demande si c'est correct de juste enlever l'oeuf de sur le dessus. Je lui dis avec beaucoup d'hésitation que je peux bien essayer. Lors du retour de mon assiette, il se trouve encore des petits bouts d'oeuf. J'avais le coeur dans la gorge, aucune chance que je mange mon assiette. Je fais donc part du problème au serveur initial (le gentil jeune homme). Je demande de refaire mon assiette. Il revient quelques minutes plus tard en me disant, à son plus grand regret, que j'allais devoir payer l'assiette initiale malgré leur erreur, ainsi que la nouvelle assiette. Je lui ai demandé, pour confirmer, ''si j'annule la nouvelle assiette et que je mange pas l'assiette initiale avec l'erreur, je vais quand même devoir payer, même si c'est votre erreur et que j'ai très clairement demandé de mettre l'oeuf à part?'' (et le serveur l'avait clairement écrit également). Il m'a confirmé que je comprenais bien. Je trouve ça totalement illogique de faire payer le client pour l'erreur du cuisinier, SURTOUT lorsque la demande a été clairement formulée du DÉPART! Je suis vraiment déçue d'avoir eu à payer 22$au total pour une assiette que j'ai réussi (avec une méchante nausée) à manger quelques morceaux ici et là simplement pour ne pas sentir le regret de payer autant cher pour absolument rien!

Ps: Je n'ai rien à reprocher au serveur, il m'a clairement dit que c'est la décision du gérant et que si ce n'était que de lui, la décision serait...

I'm not a difficult person, but this is the WORST Allo mon coco I've been to. I live in Montreal and this one is definitely not comparable to the ones in Montreal. First of all, there isn't enough staff. We had to wait in line when the dining room is only half full. Then, the waitress got me the wrong order and insisted that this is what I have ordered. When I asked if I can have a little side fruit bowl just to make up for the mistaken order, she said she had to charge me EXTRA for that. I MEAN DUDE, YOU MESSED UP THE ORDER!! Also, the amount of fruit and potatoes is 1/3 the amount that I usually get in Montreal. The potatoes were overcooked/burnt too... Huge disappointment since I really love...
