Definitely and highly recommended. I can say its the best Persian food that you can get in Quebec. ( by the way , read my notes at the end :) )
Drove 2 hours from Montreal to try their food. Very nice couple. the wife in front and husband in the kitchen. Very friendly environment. Also gave us directions on where to go. I can say Standard Persian Food. You will never get disappointed here. Recipes they use are those that you find in books like Roza Montazami or Samira Jannatdoost. Never checked Najaf Daryabandary but should be the same.
Here is what I found there :
Rice : 7 Star * Very good Persian rice , beautiful, generous Safran on top. Perfectly prepared like professional grandmas in north of Iran or Azerbaijan province ( Tabriz ). Only had one that was way better than this, around 35 years ago in a wedding party in North of Iran, a city named Sari. I would recommend everybody to try Persian Rice. You can get a brand named Golestan. Ask a Persian guy or find a good recipes. A bit expensive but you will definitely see that huge difference.
Ghormeh Sabzi : 5 Star * One of the best ones that I have ever had in restaurants. Its very difficult to fine tune this stew and the lady did a very good job with ingredients that we can find in Canada. I could only do it 10% better by adding a bit ( maybe 1 tea spoon or max 1 light table spoon ) more fired Fenugreek at the end or before serving on the top to let the guest feel that aroma and go to heaven before tasting the food :D. (Don't use butter or olive oil)
Kebab Soltani : 4 Star ** --- Joojeh (The chiken Kebab ) 3.5 maybe 4 Star ** --- Koobideh Well marinated , perfectly cooked. So good that my daughter ordered 2 times :D. Koobideh could be better if the meat grinder window or plate was one size bigger and / or the meat was grinded max two times. I do one time and 150 grams to 200 grams per skewer for myself which is a personal preference :D.
Akbar Joojeh : Maybe 3 star * The chicken size was standard and very good for this dish. Not too easy to find an animal in this size in the market. A bit dry. Could be done better since the chicken could be prepared to have more juice and I know its difficult to get there when you fry a chicken. I would rub a little bit of Pomegranate paste on chicken before serving for the color and presentation but understandable since not every body , especially non Iranians like that sourness. I would try other menu items next time.
Salad Shirazi : 4 star **
Tea and Nabat : 4 Star **
Beautiful, traditional setup. Very impressive.
Final note : While the Ghormeh Sabzi and Rice quality will stay at 5 star, Kebab quality is a good 4 star in Quebec and a 3 star compared to those 5 stars in Tehran, Isfahan or Tabriz although that quality will make this unaffordable :) . So considering the money you pay compared to what you get, its a 4 star. You can find...
Read moreHighly recommended! 🏆🥇👌 We had an amazing dining experience at L Restaurant. I can confidently say it was the best kebab I've ever had outside of Iran. You can compare it to the top kebab restaurants in Iran and rate it just as highly! We traveled from Montreal to visit Sherbrooke, and having tried most Persian kebabs in Montreal, I can confirm that the reviews are spot-on—this place is exceptional!
The meat was incredibly fresh and of high quality, especially the Barg kebab, which I absolutely loved. The special Iranian olives (with plenty of walnuts and pomegranate sauce), the tea with rose petals, and the traditional Iranian candy (nabat) were all fabulous touches.
If you're in Sherbrooke, dining at L Restaurant should be at the top of your to-do list! The owners are really friendly and welcoming. The restaurant's location is ideal, right in front of the city hall in downtown Sherbrooke, offering a lovely view of the building and the surrounding green space.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back to try other dishes! Thank you for your excellent food...

And the experience doesn’t end with the main course. Their Persian chai, fresh baklava, and traditional saffron ice cream add a delightful final touch that lingers in your mouth and memory.
In summer, Café-Restaurant L becomes even more magical with its outdoor seating. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy the warm weather with great food and great company.
