As a local I recently frequented this restaurant because it looked nice and had many good reviews. After having experienced it, there are points (good and bad) I want to share to help other people who are looking forward to going there and also to help the owners with important criticism that need to be addressed.
-Service: The service is the main reason I left a lower review. See, the waiter and waitresses were very professional and very nice by any standards. However, the wait time was absolutely unacceptable. We waited about 1h20 before we got out food and it also took them quite a while to take our order in the first place. In total we spent 2h20 minutes in the restaurant including taking a seat, ordering, eating and leaving and yes we did have a reservation. Words cannot describe how absurd that is for a restaurant. Unfortunately, this seems to be a theme for Persian restaurants in Sherbrooke.
-Atmosphere: In terms of atmosphere, it really doesn't get better than this. It is very possibly one of the best looking restaurants I've seen. The decor feels very traditional and a lot of the showcased figures brought back nostalgia. Huge advantage to the restaurant.
-Food: The food was quite nice. I ordered the Vaziri and it came with a salad, a bowl of rice, a stick of kebab and a stick of chicken. The portions are about what you would expect from a Persian restaurant, so expect huge amounts of rice. It tasted quite nice but it wasn't anything phenomenal by Irainian standards. I would still recommend the food though.
-Price: The prices are rather competitive and, in my opinion, well placed for the amount of food we got. Expect to pay around 30-40$/person.
In conclusion, it is a lovely restaurant with lovely staff. Just watch out for the absurd wait times. If you're looking to meet up somewhere with a group of people and spend some time with them, this...
Read morePersian (Iranian) restaurant in Sherbrooke managed by a persian couple. Here I explained you our experience:
We were 7 reserved a table since 2 weeks before. We arrived in time and there were only 2 waitresses on the floor, one of them filled out glasses in the beginning and then we were waiting for 30 minutes that someone come to our table and take order.
We finally took the manager to ask her that we are ready to order. She said because you were waiting for long time I'll try to bring your orders fast. And it was fast, she brought them in 5 minutes.
I'm persian and I found the dishes acceptable but not the best representative of persian food!! Don't even try the ice cream, it has nothing to do with the traditional persian ice cream and far away from that!!!
The worst thing is the service, they definitely need more people on the floor to not leave the clients on their own for long time...!!
But good effort and I wish you progress more and more in...
Read moreVisited the restaurant at 7pm, only to find out that my favorite dish, ground beef skewer, was already unavailable, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. It was disappointing, as I was really looking forward to it. The restaurant needs to manage their stock and menue availability more carefully. Also despite the other good reviews, I didnât like anything I had. The rice was mediocre, the fillet mignon skewer was actually the worst, it was cooked too rare for a persian dish. The dessert was frozen (it came directly out of the freezer!) The tea was just a bland black tea, it could use some persian spices. Chicken skewer was ok. Atmosphere was good. staff were friendly and...
