Went for Dinner on a Sunday at around 7 pm, so my expectations were low to begin with however I did not expect it to be this bad.
Initial entry to restaurant:
Was not greeted even with a hello, rather the woman that approached us simply stared at us vacantly until I told her that it we would like to dine in (2 of us). She genuinely seemed surprised or annoyed we were asking to eat in the restaurant.
She then sat us down at the table and gave us menus and then went back in the kitchen area for about 5 min before coming out again and taking our order. Since we were the only two people in the back, I found this wait time a bit excessive but while waiting I observed two skip the dishes employees arrive to pick up orders so I let it slide.
Our order: 1 fish cake appetizer 1 beef spring rolls order
2 orders of soup
-Tom Yam -Tom Kha
I also ordered some green tea, a Pepsi and some water. Drinks took about another 5 minutes to come out and she forgot the Pepsi as well. The water had lemon in it which I did not want but I feel that might be a bit picky so I will not hold it against them. Green tea was actually quite nice so it wasn't all bad.
Ok, now for a review of the food itself.
Fish 'cakes'
Absolutely horrendous. They resembled tiny patty cakes that were very thin and looked like they were pan fried. However when I bit into it, the texture was very rubbery and I suspect they are simply frozen and then heated. They did taste like fish however...so...ya..

Spring Rolls The appearance of these rolls were satisfactory, however when I bit into it, there was hardly any meat and the taste was mediocre at best. I have had many spring rolls before and these were very underwhelming in flavor.

Tom Yam Soup
Ok to be fair I have never had this soup before, at any Thai restaurant so I really did not know what to expect. It was described as having, mushrooms, tomatoes, bamboo, beef slices in a hot/sour broth. Sounds pretty good right?
-It was absolutely awful and I would rather drink dish detergent than order this soup again. The broth was similar to drinking pure vinegar and it was so acidic it was burning my mouth. It was torturous trying to finish the soup and I left it largely untouched.

Tom Kha
This soup was slightly better but the broth, despite having some sort of coconut milk added to dilute the searing acidity of the vinegar, was still horrible and not an enjoyable experience.
The vegetables looked like they came from a can and the amount of chicken in the soup was a joke. I understand that times might be tight for restaurant's and they want to minimize food costs/maximize profits, however if you continue to serve this way with inflated prices you are surely headed for closure.

Service
I did not have much expectations for service after the initial lukewarm greeting and it continually disappointed. I then informed her that the I did not enjoy the soup and she did not even ask why but simply responded with, "I guess you do not like Thai food".
Really????
Absolutely arrogant and if this type of customer service is typical at this location then I suspect that many patrons will leave here largely unsatisfied. My guess is that a lot of the orders from this restaurant are from take out so I suspect that in-service dining is secondary which should not be the case. I think this is a backwards mentality and that people actually coming to dine in your establishment should be given priority.

Ambiance This was the one highlight of the visit, I found the tiny restaurant to be quite cozy and welcoming and the Thai music they had playing in the background was also quite nice. It had a slightly rundown feel to it, as the menus were very old, sometimes just hard written and the seats were ripped and taped up, however it appeared to be clean and I do not have a lot of complaints about the actual venue...
Read morePad Thai was awful, I’ve eaten 100’s of pad thais including from Thailand, this was one of the worst I’ve had. Felt like I bought a package of instant noodles with a flavour pack that was soaked in soy sauce. Barely any chicken in it, just overall an awful pad Thai. The $10 for one green onion is an absolute joke. I assumed when ordering online it meant two, like every other restaurant when it’s $10 for green onion cake, nope just one weird fried green onion cake. The peanut sauce was inedible, I’m Caucasian and can make a far superior peanut sauce for dipping. Overall I would strongly not recommend this place, not authentic nor shares any similarities of Thai or Asian cuisine, much better...
Read moreForgot to serve us after taking our order and they did not realize until we noticed 3 other tables that came after us got their food. Waited an hour for our food that came out one at a time. Not to mention how small their green curry and other main dishes are for the high price. Staff was pretty positive and didn't say much though. Place was really clean. Flavour of food was alright but I still would prefer another Thai place that has larger portions as I usually go when I want to share with a group of 4 people. There's room for improvement for sure. Place was busy so maybe it was a one off for my friends...
